There doesn’t seem to be a whole lot of questions about why the New York Yankees  decided to move on from Anthony Volpe in the short term, optioning him to Triple-A.

Instead of worrying about the wrong decisions the Yankees have made with Volpe in the past, they’re seemingly making the right ones now, and according to the latest, a lot of it has to do with how well the team has played.

This should not be a difficult decision to make . Jose Cabellero has been playing very well after a slow start . This Yankees team have a different mindset in 2026. Those players that are playing well will start .

There have been times this season, that apart from the top four or five players in the lineup, the Yankees don’t play well al around. But as of late everything has been going well .

Volpe will have to get to work if he wants to come back up, but the more the Yankees win and the more that Caballero keeps playing well, the less chance of this happening.
