The Boston Redsox opened their 2024 season on the road against the Seattle Mariners, in a four game series.
Game One on Thursday Brayan Bello took the bump and pitched well enough to get the opening day win. He pitched 5IN, 5H, 1HR, 2K’s, with a 3.60 ERA.

Tyler O’Neill continued his opening day streak of hitting a homer, collecting his 5th. Devers also collected a homer, on his march to 40 this season
Jansen locked it in and got his first save of the year. I’ll talk more about him later.
6-4 win
The second game was a pitchers duel between George Kirby and Nick Pivetta (Kirby had 8K’s to Pivetta’s 10).
The Redsox offense didn’t show up for Pivetta and only got a runner to third twice (1st and 8th).
1-0 lose

Saturdays game was a disappointment on all levels and me screaming. Redsox came back to lead the game, yet Jansen said his back hurt and couldn’t pitch. So Cora went with Joley Rodriguez and he blew the save and the win.
4-3 lose
The last game of the series the offense showed up and scored 5 runs. O’Neill and McGuire had good days at the plate. O’Neill had his second homer of the season and in 4 games showing it was a good pickup by Breslow.
Whitlock got the win, along with 8K’s and only giving up 1 run in 5 innings.
In a feel good story Justin Slaten got his 1st MLB save in his career.

5-1 Win
3 players of the series
Nick Pivetta
Tyler O’Neill
Garrett Whitlock
The Redsox start a 3 game series against the Oakland A’s. I’ll have a series preview before the start of the game tonight.
