Today, we head to the Capital One Arena in Washington, DC as the Washington Capitals welcome in the Arizona Coyotes. Arizona comes in fresh off a win after snapping a 14 game losing streak. They didn’t win a single game in the month of February, but the Yotes were able to start March off with a 5-3 win over the Ottawa Senators.
The Capitals have been playing well of late, going 6-2-2 over their last ten games still trying to keep their playoff hopes alive. Washington currently sits seven points out of the final wild card spot in the Eastern Conference. Home is where the Caps have played their best hockey, currently on a three game home winning streak and 16-9-5 on the season. With an early 1pm start they’ll be looking to get another two points in front of their home fans.
Arizona comes in 9-17-5 on the road and 1-11 over their last twelve road matchups. It’s going to take more than winning one game over the last thirty days before anyone should start backing Arizona. These are points the Caps can’t let slip away and should have a lil extra motivation after being shutout by the Coyotes 6-0 back in December.
