We had low scoring, defensive, cheap shot filled rivalry game, not really a surprise when it’s Pittsburgh.

We had a coach get the last laugh at the team that fired him. Congratulations to Nathaniel Hackett.

We had a major butt whooping during a prime-time game. Shanahan made McCarthy his biatch.

And of course, it would not be a week in the NFL, without the officials completely screwing a blatantly “missed call” that help decide a game. What a surprise, the Chiefs were given the game.

So, here we go folks. It’s the Week 5 NFL Wrap-up.

Chicago Bears at Washington Commanders. Thursday Night Football on Amazon Prime.
Bears won 40-20.

For the first time this season, Da Bears were celebrating a victory inside their locker room. From the opening kickoff, this game was never close. Bears QB Justin Fields and WR D.J. Moore had a Vulcan Mind Meld going on, as they hooked up for 230 yards passing and 3 TDs. Chicago K Cairo Santos has made 100% of his FG attempts this season, going 4/4 in this game.
Bears improve to 1-4. Next game: Home against Minnesota. Game starts at 1PM(EST) on FOX.
Commanders fall to 2-3. Next game: at Atlanta, Game starts at 1PM(EST) on CBS.

Jacksonville Jaguars vs Buffalo Bills.

Game was played in London, England.
Jaguars won 25-20.

This was a great game. The teams went back and forth on both offense and defense. Jaguars leaders, QB Trevor Lawrence went 25 of 37, for 315 yards, and a TD. WR Calvin Ridley had 7 catches for 122 yards. It was HB Travis Etienne Jr led the Jags to victory. He had 26 carries for 136 yards and both his touchdowns came in the fourth quarter.
Unfortunately, Buffalo Bills LB Matt Milano suffered a fractured leg and is awaiting an MRI. He is done for the season.
Jaguars improve to 3-2. Next game: Home against Indianapolis. Game starts at 1PM(EST) on CBS.
Bills fall to 3-2. Next game: Home against New York Giants. Game starts at 8:20PM(EST) on NBC.

Houston Texans at Atlanta Falcons.
Falcons won 21-19

This was one of my picks for Top 3 Games of the Week, and once again, I was proven right. Texans rookie QB C.J. Stroud has thrown 186 passes without a single interception, to start a career. The story of the game though is Falcons QB Desmond Ridder, leading his team to a fourth comeback win. He went 28 of 37, for 329 yards and a TD. K Younghoe Koo kicked a 37-yard field goal as time expired.
Falcons improve to 3-2. Next game: Home against Washington. Game starts at 1PM(EST) on CBS.
Texans fall to 2-3. Next game: Home against New Orleans. Game starts at 1PM(EST) on FOX.

Carolina Panthers at Detroit Lions.
Lions won 42-20.

At no point in this game did it feel close. The Lions just dominated on both sides of the football. QB Jared Goff went 20 of 28, for 236 yards, and 3 TDs. He even added a TD on the ground. HB David Montgomery had his second straight 100-yard game. He had 19 carries, for 109 yards, and a TD.
Lions CB Emmanuel Moseley played in his first game back after tearing his left ACL in Week 3 last season. Unfortunately, he tore his right ACL on Sunday, and is done for the rest of the season. Heartbreaking for this young man.
Panthers OG Chandler Zavala was carted off the field and taken to the hospital with a neck injury, I’m THANKFUL to report that he has been released from the hospital.
Lions improve to 4-1. Next game: at Tampa Bay. Game starts at 4:25PM(EST) on FOX.
Panthers fall to 0-5. Next game: at Miami. Game starts at 1PM(EST) on CBS.

Tennessee Titans at Indianapolis Colts.
Colts won 23-16.

The big story coming in was about HB Jonathan Taylor signing a contract extension to stay with the Colts. Well, Zack Moss told the world “hold my beer”, as he absolutely gutted the Titans defense. 23 carries, for 165 yards, and 2 TDs. Colts backup QB Gardner Minshew came in for an injured Anthony Richardson, and went 11 for 14, with 155 yards. He showed total control and timing in the system.
Indianapolis rookie QB Anthony Richardson sustained a sprained AC Joint in his right shoulder. He is expected to miss multiple games.
Colts improve to 3-2. Next game: at Jacksonville. Game starts at 1PM(EST) on CBS.
Titans fall to 2-3. Next game: Home against Baltimore. Game starts at 1PM(EST) on CBS.

New York Giants vs Miami Dolphins.
Dolphins won 31-16.

Don’t let the score, fool you. The Miami Dolphins had complete control, from start to finish. The much-maligned Giants offensive line gave up seven sacks. The big stories were the play of star WR Tyreek Hill and HB De’Von Achane. Hill had 181 yards, on 8 receptions and a TD. The rookie Achane had 151 yards on only 11 carries, and a TD.
Dolphins improve to 4-1. Next game: Home against Carolina. Game starts at 1(EST)PM on CBS.
Giants fall to 1-4. Next game: at Buffalo. Game starts at 8:20PM(EST) on NBC.

New Orleans Saints at New England Patriots.
Saints won 34-0.

There is no way to sugar coat it. The Patriots offense just plain stinks. It’s hard to see anything more than maybe one win left on their schedule. Saints HB Alvin Kamara’s 2-yard TD run in the second quarter, made him the Saints all-time career touchdown leader with 72 in total. K Blake Grupe hit both field goals from 50+ in this game (54 and 53 yards).
Saints improve to 3-2. Next game: at Houston. Game starts at 1PM(EST) on FOX.
Patriots fall to 1-4. Next game: at Las Vegas. Game starts at 4:05PM(EST) on CBS.

Baltimore Ravens at Pittsburgh Steelers.
Steelers won 17-10.

Another Steelers game, another Steelers player landing a cheap shot and having it go “uncalled”. Pittsburgh superstar OLB T.J. Watt “inadvertently” punched Ravens rookie WR Zay Flowers in the face, while breaking up a pass. Yeah right. Baltimore turned the football over three times in this game. Steelers QB Kenny Pickett hit WR George Pickens on a 41-yard touchdown with 1:17 left in the game, to take the lead for good.
Steelers improve to 3-2. Next game: Have a bye.
Ravens fall to 3-2. Next game: at Tennessee. Game starts at 9:30AM(EST) on NFL Network.

Philadelphia Eagles at Los Angeles Rams.
Eagles won 23-14.

Rams star WR Cooper Kupp made his season debut and had 8 catches for 118 yards. Eagles QB Jalen Hurts went 25 of 38, for 303 yards, and 1 TD. TE Dallas Goedert had 8 catches, for 117 yards and a TD. WR A.J. Brown had 6 catches, for 127 yards. Rookie DT Jalen Carter had 2 sacks.
Eagles improve to 5-0. Next game: at New York Jets. Game starts at 4:25PM(EST) on FOX.
Rams fall to 2-3. Next game: Home against Arizona. Game starts at 4:25PM(EST) on FOX.

Cincinnati Bengals at Arizona Cardinals.
Bengals won 34-20.

The Bengals offense finally decided to play football this season. Superstar QB Joe Burrow hit his superstar WR Ja’Marr Chase, 15 times for 192 yards and 3 TDs. Burrow had 317 yards passing on the day. Bengals LB Germaine Pratt had a great game. He finished with 10 total tackles, 2 TFLs, 1 PD, and an INT. DE Trey Hendrickson had 2.5 sacks in the game.
Bengals improve to 2-3. Next game: Home against Seattle. Game starts at 1PM(EST) on CBS.
Cardinals fall to 1-4. Next game: at Los Angeles Rams. Game starts at 4:25PM(EST) on FOX.

New York Jets at Denver Broncos.
Jets won 31-21.

The Jets were down 13-8 halftime against a struggling Broncos team. HB Breece Hall took the very first play after the half, 72 yards for a touchdown and they never looked back again. Outscoring Denver 23-8 in the second half to break a three-game losing streak. Hall finished with 177 yards on 22 carries, to go along with that TD.
Jets improve to 2-3. Next game: Home against Philadelphia. Game starts at 4:25PM(EST) on FOX.
Broncos fall to 1-4. Next game: Thursday Night at Kansas City. Game starts at 8:15PM(EST) on Amazon Prime Video.

Kansas City Chiefs vs Minnesota Vikings.
Chiefs won 27-20.

The main story coming out of this game will be the injury to Chiefs TE Travis Kelce. The story should be that once again, the NFL officials gave Kansas City the win. Chiefs CB L’Jarius Sneed CLEARLY committed pass interference against Vikings WR Jordan Addison, he also had a handful of jersey, which could’ve been holding. The officials DID throw the flag. Sneed then proceeded to take his helmet off, on the field. That’s an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. Instead of being flagged for a RIGHTFUL, third penalty on the same play, the official told him to put his helmet back on.

This is the 3rd game already this season, that they’ve “missed” calls in favor of them. It happened in Week 1 against the Lions, and again, in Week 4 against the Jets.

If it would’ve been rightly called, it more than likely would’ve tied the game at 27-27, and with both defenses playing well, who knows what could’ve happened. It’s this kind of blatant, obvious favoritism, is why fans are turning on the league and wishing everything sort of death, on the Kansas City Chiefs.
Chiefs improve to 4-1. Next game: Thursday Night at home against Denver. Game starts at 8:15PM(EST) on Amazon Prime Video.
Vikings fall to 1-4. Next game: at Chicago. Game starts at 1PM(EST) on FOX.

Dallas Cowboys at San Francisco 49ers.
49ers won 42-10.

The Cowboys came into town and to face off against one of their biggest historical rivals. What happened was, they ended up getting their butts handed to them on a silver platter. 49ers QB Brock Purdy showed why he’s now in the MVP conversation, going 17 of 24, for 252 yards, and 4 TDs. TE George Kittle had 3 of those TDs on 3 catches for 67 yards. The Cowboys offense couldn’t do squat. Star QB Dak Prescott finished the game going 14 of 24, for 153 yards, 1 TD and 3 big INTs.
49ers improve to 5-0. Next game: at Cleveland. Game starts at 1PM(EST) on FOX.
Cowboys fall to 3-2. Next game: Monday Night at Los Angeles Chargers. Game starts at 8:15PM(EST) on ABC and ESPN.

Green Bay Packers at Las Vegas Raiders.
Raiders won 17-13.

It seemed like this game was never going to end. It also seemed like nobody wanted to win it either. Packers QB Jordan Love threw 3 INTs. Raiders QB Jimmy Garoppolo threw his league leading 7th INT of the season. The bright spot in this game was that Raiders LB Robert Spillane had 9 total tackles, 2 pass deflections and he doubled his career INT total, by getting 2 big ones in this game alone.
Raiders improve to 2-3. Next game: Home against New England. Game starts at 4:05PM(EST) on CBS.
Packers fall to 2-3. Next game: Packers have a bye.
