The Dallas Cowboys, who’s season has been stuck in quicksand, will host their arch rival and division foe the Philadelphia Eagles at AT&T stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The Cowboys, not only lost the game last week vs. the Atlanta Falcons, they also lost Dak Prescott with a hamstring injury. And all reports indicate, that he could be out at least 4-6 weeks. Plus, there are now whispers that he could actually have season ending surgery. So it’s Cooper Rush who will lead the offense, and expect to see some doses of Trey Lance as well.

The Eagles trail upstart Washington by 1.5 games in the NFC East, and will face the Commanders in a key showdown next weekend.

The Eagles are averaging 24.9 points and 377.1 yards of total offense per game, which are 11th and 6th respectively. Philadelphia averages 174.8 (2nd) yards rushing and 202.4 (20th) yards passing per game. The Eagles are allowing an average of 19.4 points and 290.1 yards per game which are 9th and 3rd respectively. The Philly defense allows an average of 101.1 (5th) yards rushing and 189.0 (7th) yards passing per game.

Philadelphia quarterback Jalen Hurts has thrown for 1,774 yards and 10 touchdowns, 4 interceptions but has been sacked 10 times. Saquon Barkeley has rushed for 925 yards, with 6 touchdowns. On the receiving side, Davonta Smith has caught 35 passes for 473 yards and 4 touchdowns. On the defensive side of the ball, its not a defense that scares you. Josh Sweat leads the team in 10 sacks, and in the secondary Reed Blankenship leads the team with 2 interceptions.

It’s Cooper Rush who will lead the team on Sunday. Rush did lead the Cowboys to a 4-1 start when Prescott was out in 2022, but this situation is totally different. Prescott could require surgery, which yet has to be determined.

Final Prediction and Analysis:

Cooper Rush will have to find a way to win this game and keep the game close to the end. The Dallas offense has to find a way to get some sort of running attack going just to keep the Eagles off the field. The Cowboys will have to get more of Ceedee Lamb involved again, with his injured shoulder, as well as Jake Ferguson, along with Jalen Tolbert and some doses of Kevonte Turpin.

On the defense side of the ball, they must keep Jalen Hurts in the pocket, and not allow him to scramble and keep Saquon Barkeley at bay, and get a few sacks to keep this game within distance.

Expect this game to be close as usual, when it comes to the Eagles and Cowboys.
