Help with my fantasy team, il need you later.

Those of you in Fantasy Baseball looking for the push for the playoffs or have more arms or bats on hand to make sure you give it your all will want to think further down the line that what you have rostered. Some leagues let you grab injured players post draft to stash them away, if not some people pick up one or two during the end of the draft if you do the latter you will end up with an empty spot to add another and another till your IL is full. Depending on how many IL spots you league has I am gonna suggest “stashing” these guys away for later use or better yet the following year if you are in a keeper/dynasty league. I am going to talk about Yahoo in particular because that is what I played the most and I’ll start by telling you if you didn’t know two way players are separate, example Shohei Ohtani is a batter and a pitcher, I love this idea… so here goes.

the hitters

My first stash for either the playoff run or dynasty purposes would be Ronny Mauricio 2B/3B of the NY Mets, Mauricio is actually listed as a shortstop by MLB, he will help fill a void if one of the 3 positions he can play are to become available. #2 hitter I would stash either by picking him late in the draft or like I said some leagues you can grab post draft and place directly on IL would be none other than Jason Dominguez for the NY Yankees, lets face it the Yankees are the poster child of injuries every year, Dominguez will bring power and speed to your fantasy team and in real life with the playoff hopeful Bombers. Lastly for hitters I would pickup 23 year old Endy Rodriguez catcher for the Pittsburgh Pirates, E-Rod brings a .296 minor league average with 50 HR 243 RBI and the kid gets on base Rodriguez with a .386 OBP. Lets face it catchers get banged up who wouldn’t want a now healthy catcher on their team.

I am gonna take you back to the first paragraph right away, Shohei Ohtani (SP) is listed IL 60 for pitchers, he may be picked in the draft but in case he isn’t, look for him in the finishing rounds of the draft or pick him up directly after the draft ends. I don’t really need to explain this one, Ohtani is one of the best pitchers in the league who wouldn’t want that for a dynasty team or a healthy Ohtani for the playoffs. He will also have an attitude that can’t be denied playing for contenders now instead of the dead end Angels who haven’t seen the playoffs in many years. #2 to pickup would be Shane McClanahan face it, when he is healthy he is very good, in his brief 3 year career he has amassed 456 K’s in 404 IP, very good K/IP ratio and somehow the Rays over the last few years have been in contention. Still young for a pitcher, he’s 26, McClanahan is definitely a stash worthy pitcher. I was going to go with another Rays pitcher here and you can if you like, Jeffrey Springs good K/IP ratio and doesn’t walk many batters either. My pick seeing as I don’t want two Tampa pitchers # I’ll go with Robby Ray, he’s been good, he’s been awful, I am looking for a bounce back season and a new team that has improved quite a bit, also a great pitchers park. Will Ray get Cy Young numbers again is hard to say, but healthy and driven to play in the playoffs he may have a chip on his shoulder.

All these players should be a good adds to your fantasy team for playoff runs, and some great pickups especially for later round finds or like i said free if its post draft.

Be smart, have fun and good luck. You have nothing to lose by at least trying to pick them up, filling up IL spots never killed anyone.
