Michigan athletics tried its best to avoid scrutiny from the Big Ten and Tony Petitti. However, recent reports by Pete Thamel reveal that the Big Ten conference is imposing a three-game suspension on Jim Harbaugh, lasting until the end of the regular season. This disciplinary action is a result of in-person scouting and an ongoing investigation into sign-stealing.

Although Harbaugh is barred from coaching in the upcoming Penn State, Maryland, and Ohio State games, the Big Ten allows him to manage day-to-day activities during the week. T

he NCAA is still investigating the football program for alleged sign-stealing, and the Big Ten’s decision indicates confidence in the existing evidence.

The investigation implicates Connor Stalions, a former low-level staffer who reportedly orchestrated illegal sign-stealing by purchasing tickets to over 30 games and transferring them to others. Despite the NCAA finding no direct link between Stalions and Harbaugh, the conference has opted to suspend the Michigan head coach.

Michigan intends to contest Harbaugh’s suspension through legal channels, raising the possibility that he might still coach in the upcoming game against Penn State while under suspension.
