On Wednesday evening, news came out from Sports Illustrated , in an exclusive, that Shohei Ohtani is off the trade market.

The Angels believe they can use Ohtani for a playoff push with their wild card chase within four games reach.

Ohtani has been an amazing player to watch in the 2023 season, and maybe this is a move that Los Angeles will regret, with Shohei’s deal coming to a conclusion after this year.

Ohtani has played in 99 games, has 112 hits, .299 batting average, 36 homers, 77 RBIs, and has drawn 62 walks…and that’s only on the offensive side.

Ohtani has started in 19 games, has a record of 8-5, a 3.71 ERA, has pitched in 111.2 innings, has given up 78 hits, and has 148 strikeouts.

Ohtani could make a difference for the Angels to conclude the 2023 season, but, they will indeed miss this baseball phenom in the future. Let us know on Twitter @WeLikeSportzPC what you think.

I see this as a ” let’s keep the fans happy ” move. If they can get a wildcard spot, if they can win at least one series. Halo fans will be ecstatic. But will anything other than a WS appearance erase the pain of Ohtani leaving as a free agent.
