On Saturday night, the San Francisco Giants hosted the Arizona Diamondbacks.
In the bottom of the first inning, Joc Pederson hit a ground ball to second base, with a runner on base, and Pederson looked to have beat out the throw to first to turn the double play….initially.
In something that turned out to be a fantastic clip following the high speeds Pederson had reached on the bases, the call was eventually overturned, and the Diamondbacks had the call overturned and did indeed turn a double play.
The Giants designated hitter thought he had beat out the throw, and had some confident words to say on the bases.
Thankfully for San Francisco Giants fans, Pederson’s speed or lack of didn’t cost the team the game over the Diamondbacks, with San Francisco winning 7-6, and have now won 12 of their last 13 games.
Is this possibly one of the funniest moments in baseball in recent history? Let us know on Twitter @WeLikeSportzPC.
