Sunday’s SnoozeYouLose Pick

We head to Denver, Colorado to join the madness that is March. #3 seed Gonzaga takes on #6 seed TCU. After a slow start in their First Round matchup, the Zags were able to pull away from Grand Canyon 82-70 in the Second Half. With that victory, Gonzaga extended their current winning streak to ten.

TCU on the other hand had their backs against the wall in their First Round matchup, barely escaping defeat. A game winning shot by JaKobe Coles kept the Horned Frogs season alive with a 72-70 win over Arizona State.

Even with TCU advancing, they improve to only 7-9 all time in the NCAA tournament. They’re also 1-4 against the spread their last five games. The Bulldogs haven’t performed well against the number either, sitting 0-6 against the spread their last six tournament games.

What will separate these two teams Sunday night, their offense. During its current 10 game winning streak, Gonzaga is averaging 91 points per game. The Horned Frogs are averaging 71 points per game, in its last ten matchups.

TCU is extremely scrappy and won’t go down easily. You wonder if fatigue could be a factor, after coming back down 11 to ASU in such an emotional fashion. If the Zags get out to a double digit lead early on, it could get ugly.

Official Pick: Gonzaga -4.5
