On Tuesday evening, the Detroit Lions made their latest move, the Lions acquired RB David Montgomery, which leads to unfortunate news for former running back, Jamaal Williams.
NFL Insider Tom Pelissero , reported the news first regarding Montgomery to the Lions.
NFL Insider Ian Rapoport , reported the length of the contract (3 years for $18 million) and the news related to Williams more than likely heading out of Detroit.
Williams has spent time with both the Green Bay Packers and recently the Detroit Lions (for two years) , the running back has been in the NFL for 6 seasons.
Williams has started in 40 games (90 total appearances) , has 915 rushing attempts for 3,652 rushing yards, Williams also has 30 rushing touchdowns.
For the receiving side of things, Williams has 169 receptions for 1,191 yards, and has totaled 8 touchdown receptions.
Jamaal Williams became a huge part of the Lions organization near the end of this past season and wasn’t afraid to leave it all out on the field, as well as, displaying his heart and soul on the gridiron.
