Bogdanovic To Miss Rest Of Playoffs With Surgery; Injured Knicks Look To Finish Philly Tonight At MSG

New York—The New York Knicks’ small forward, Bojan Bogdanovic, is set to undergo surgery on his foot and left wrist, ending his season, according to SNY’s Ian Begley.

During Game 4 against the Philadelphia 76ers, Bogdanovic hurt his ankle shortly after entering the game, while vying with Nic Batum for a loose ball. Following a tussle, Batum lunged for the ball and landed awkwardly on Bogdanovic’s leg, causing the 35-year-old to fall to the ground in pain and not return to play.

Before the match, Bogdanovic had an MRI on his wrist, uncovering ligament damage. Despite the injury, the seasoned player intended to continue playing through the playoffs, hence his participation in Sunday’s game, with surgery planned post-season.
Bogdanovic’s injury adds to the New York Knicks’ growing list of setbacks.

Since late January, the team has been without Julius Randle, and for Game 4, Mitchell Robinson was absent due to an ankle injury sustained in Game 3.

The Knicks’ bench now includes Miles McBride, Precious Achiuwa, Jericho Sims, and Alec Burks, with both Bogdanovic and possibly Robinson unavailable.

Bogdanovic, brought in from the Detroit Pistons during the trade deadline to bolster bench scoring, performed well in his 29 games for New York, averaging 10.4 points in 19.2 minutes per game in season, and Bogdanovic had scored an average of 8.0 points per game off the bench and had a 6-for-15 record from beyond the arc in the three previous games(before the injury).

Will Jalen and the Knicks Finish the 76ers Today At MSG?

Brunson is expected to play despite tweaking his knee in Game 4. Donte DiVincenzo, Josh Hart, Anunoby, Isaiah Hartenstein, and Miles McBride are also set to be part of New York’s rotation. Typically, coaches opt for an eight-player rotation in the playoffs, and that is exactly what Thibodeau has been doing up to this point.

At this moment, the Knicks are operating with a six man rotation(starting 5 + Deuce) tonight, but here is who is available on paper:

What do you think New York? Can The Knicks put the nail in Phillies coffin ?
