New York— The Knicks Win!
New York took game 2, in come back fashion. Trailing by five with less than 30 seconds left the had a little left in them.
Jalen Brunson managed to find a shot amidst a rough shooting performance . With just 27 seconds left on the clock, his 3-pointer bounced off the rim and went in, cutting the lead to 101-99. Then,Josh Hart successfully stole the ball from Tyrese Maxey, giving the Knicks another chance.
Despite DiVincenzo missing a first 3-pointer attempt, Isaiah Hartenstein grabbed the rebound and passed it to OG Anunoby. Anunoby then assisted DiVincenzo who was successful on this 3-pt attempt, bringing the score to 102-101. MSG Absolutely erupted when the Knicks regained the lead off Donte’s three.
“It was crazy, it was hectic, but at that point we had nothing to lose,” Hart said. “Got to get as physical as we can and it panned out.”
Hartenstein denied Maxey’s drive with a block, Anunoby sank two free throws, and the Knicks secured the win as Joel Embiid’s last-second 3-pointer fell short.
The Knicks trailed almost the entire game, but managed to find a way.
Brunson finished with 24 points 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Hart had 21 points and 15 rebounds, and DiVincenzo scored 19 points.
Game 3 is in Philly on Thursday night.
