“Starting Off Your Fantasy Week Strong”

As we know or I wrote about before those that follow me, two start pitchers are great to have even without streaming some. You can also stream some lesser owned pitchers that are sitting in the player pool on Monday or Tuesday and they will likely go again sometime on the weekend.

Lets take a look at some pitchers that are going to start twice this week.

NYY – Carlos Rodon starting Monday vs the Oakland A’s, Yankees should easily take out the A’s and their weak lineup. Rodon starts again later in the week on Saturday vs a tougher opponent in the Brewers, but I believe the high powered offense that is the Yankees will do damage on the road vs Brewers pitcher Joe Ross who supports a 4.91 ERA and walks a lot of batters, so if NY can be patient at the plate, Rodon should help the Yankees twice this week.

Pittsburgh Pirates – Jared Jones rookie sensation starting at home vs Joe Ross of the Brewers who I mentioned earlier isn’t that great. Jones is a fireballer and should do well in this matchup at home. Jones starts again on Saturday the 27th on the road this time, vs a pretty solid pitcher but not know for longevity in games Jordan Hicks of the Giants, I feel Jones will fare well on the road in this matchup.

Detroit Tigers – Tarik Skubal , Skubal takes his talented arm on the road against a good team in the TB Rays, their records are similar so far this season but Skubal is one of the best pitchers in the American League. I’m on the fence here but I am still leaning on the better pitcher Tarik has 26 K in 23.2 IP, he only has 5 walks on the season. Skubal and Tigers will prevail Monday. Skubal goes back home Sunday to take on a surprisingly good team this year in the Royals, however I do not feel Michael Wacha will be any matchup for the Tigers and Skubal. I’m looking at Detroit to get two wins this week.

Atlanta Braves – Reynaldo Lopez, not much can be said here other than the Braves should demolish Miami and Lopez has been great this year so far in a starter’s role, he is 2-0, with a 0.50 ERA and a K/9 IP ratio 18 K in 18 IP and a 0.94 WHIP, next Reynaldo is home again but versus a tough Guardians team, but like I stated above Lopez is been lights out and Atlanta’s offense is on par or better than Cleveland’s. I’m looking for Lopez to help his Braves and your fantasy teams to a win.

NY Yankees – Marcus Stroman, yes I know another Yankee, forgive me I am bias. They are my team and I have always loved Stroman. Stroman who has been great thus far this year is home against the lowly A’s Tuesday. He is facing a tough pitcher who I wrote about in another article Paul Blackburn, but come on its Oakland. As for Rodon, Stroman is on the bump on the road in Milwaukee to take on the Brew Crew, yes a tough hitter’s park, but the Brewers are going with Wade Miley Sunday, and he isn’t much better than Joe Ross. Yankees take two off the Brewers on the road thanks to Rodon and Stroman.

Two more pitchers I’d like to mention, they are not starting twice this week but if you can plug them in a spot on the day they are starting I like the matchup they both have.

Chicago White Sox – Jonathan Cannon, yes the Chi-Sox are awful offensively, but they are facing a team who isn’t that much better and their pitcher is let’s just say not that great in Chris Paddack. Jonathan Cannon is a very good up n’ coming prospect that throws heat, even his name makes you want to side with the guy.

Lastly only a hunch but I like Washington Nationals – Mitchell Parker here, so far the young lefty has started one game and has 1 win in that contest, he went 5 innings and struckout 4 and didn’t allow a walk, he supports a respectable 3.60 ERA and a 0.80 WHIP. Oh I forgot to mention he’s only facing Miami, they are only slightly better than the White Sox.

Hopefully these guys are on your fantasy team this week, if not try and pick up some two start pitchers up that are in the player pool.
