Welcome to Dallas Christian Parker.

The Dallas Cowboys have hired Christian Parker as their new defensive coordintaor. Parker spent the past two seasons, as the Philadelphia Eagles passing game coordinator, and defensive backs coach, on legendary defensive Guru, Vic Fangio’s coaching staff. This is another amazing coach, in the long line of the Vic Fangio Coaching tree. He previously spent time as the Denver Broncos defensive assistant from 2021-2023, and with the Green Bay Packers from 2019 to 2021. He also spent six years, coaching in the college ranks, with stops at Notre Dame, Texas A&M, Norfolk state and Virgina.

Parkers resume is one of high praise. He has been involved, with his defenses been in the top 8 in statisitcs in the NFL. He has developed many of the star corners in the league. Patrick Surtain at Denver, and Cooper De Jean and Quinyon Mitchell, in Philadlphia most recently.

As per Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, Parker had a “very impressive interview on Wednesday and that pretty much sealed the deal.

In Dallas, he’ll replace Matt Ebberflus, after the Cowboys were last in points allowed, and were near the bottom of every other statistal catgegory, and were lost in coverage and plays most of the season.

This will be the Cowboys fourth defensive coordinator, in the last four years.

This was a Brian Schottenheimer hire, as he had a say in all the 10 candidates the Cowboys hired. He had great input in all the interviews. In previous years, the Cowboys head coach had no say in the fefensive coordiantor hires, as it was all Jerry Jones . This is a culture shift in Dallas.
