Abrighted out a week and a half ago, Longhorn Nation were in a tizzy. After many of their own players, opted out for the transfer portal, and the sky was falling. But not to worry, Texas steered in the right direction, and probaly has had the best transfer portal in 2026 so far.

Texas signed one of the biggest names in the transfer portal, in Cam Cameron, stealing him away from Auburn, and beating fellow SEC rivals Alabama and Texas A&M as well as Texas Tech. The former five-start recruit has two years of NCAA eligibility left, but all indications are he will leave for the NFL after the 2026 season.

Coleman was the Tigers playmaker the last two seasons, totalling 93 receptions for 1306 yards and 13 touchdowns. This past season he had 56 recptions for 708 yards and five touchdowns on a very weak Auburn team.

Texas also signed talented running back Hollywood Smothers from North Carolina State. He has originally comitted to Alabama, but changed his mind at the last minute .

Texas also signed Raleek Brown last week, from Arizona State. The duo of Brown and Smothers will give the Longhorns a formidable running attack in 2026. The longhorns running game was abysmal in 2025 and was what made the offense struggle .

On the defensive side of the ball, the Longhorns, landed standout Linebacker Rasheem Biles from Pitt, and he is the number 1 Linebacker in the portal .

Biles had a great season for the Panthers, earning second-team All-ACC honors. The Ohio native had 101 tackles (17 for a loss), 4.5 sacks and scored three touchdowns, two from an interception and one a fumble return. The junior should be a starter for new defensive coordinator Will Muschamp.

Texas also got a commitment from Zion Williams from LSU. Williams is a local guy, from Lufkin Texas. Williams didn’t see the field much, for the Tigers in 2025 so he will be a welcome addition, to Will Muschcamps defense. Williams entered the portal after LSU coach Brian Kelley was fired .

Williams joins Arknsas Nose tackle Ian Geffrard. Geffrard had 25 tackles and one pass defended. That doesn’t sound like a lot on the stats sheet, but Nose tackles dont light up the stats sheet. It his presence that will make rough days for Quarterbacks the Longhorns wil face in the very tough SEC. He should be a solid replacement for Cole Brevard, who did a fantastic job as the anchor of the DL this season.
