Just 16 seconds later, the Pens tallied another one, scored by Anthony Mantha, with the assists from Malkin and Brazeau. The Pens where up 2-0 early, but that didnt stop the struggling Blues from trying to claw back into it.

At the 4:15 mark of the first period, former Penguin, Nick Bjugstad, put the Blues on the board, with the assists from Walker and Tucker. Again, the Blues were fighting to get back into the game and tie it up, at the 15:43 mark of the period, Jordan Kyrou put one passed Penguins goaltender Tristian Jarry to tie the game at two, assists from Schenn and Holloway.

The second period didnt have the same amount of scoring as the first, with only one goal being scored, by Penguins defenseman, Parker Wotherspoon, his first of the year, with the assists from Crosby and Karlsson. Sidney Crosby is chasing one major milestone coming into the game against the Blues, Crosby was 2 points away from his 1,700 point in his career, with the assist to Wotherspoon, inched him one point away.

Going into the third period, the Penguins were holding a 3-2 lead. Then, just 42 seconds into the third, Bryan Rust lit the lamp again increasing the lead to 4-2, with the assists from Karlsson and Crosby. Crosby added that last point he was looking for, completing his milestone of 1,700 points. That is not all Crosby did, with it being a multipoint game, Crosby passed the great Mario Lemieux for the franchises most. This was Crosby’s 498th multipoint game.

Although Crosby was out making history, doesnt mean the game ends, the Pens still had a game to win. The Blues were still pushing back, at the 4:35 mark, Mathieu Joseph was trying to help the Blues cut the lead, making it 4-3. The Penguins werent going to let this one slip away, Sidney Crosby tallied his 7th goal of the season, making it 5-3, then his counterpart Evgeni Malkin sealed the deal with an empty net goal, making the final score 6-3, with the Penguins taking the win.
