The Dallas Cowboys defense is in shambles. Before this 2025 season, which had so much optimism gets away from them, there is hope to fix this defense . Lets dive in to some trouble spots, and how they can remedy the situation.

Through the first three games, they have given up a whopping 92 points, and have allowed multiple touchdowns of 25 or more yards. This will not win them games, as Dak Prescott and the Offfense cant be scoring 40 points a game each game. They have only produced 4 sacks and one interception. They are also 56.5% on third down,meaning they can’t stop teams .

They need to change the scheme of the Defense. Defensive Coordinator Brian Ebberflus has been playing a zone defense, and it hasn’t yielded results. Its giving teams too much of a cushion to make plays. And with no pressure on the quarterback, its a recipe for disaster. Switching to a man to man defense will help. Expect Javeon CLowney to play, vs.the Packers on Sunday, in Micah Parsons return to Dallas. Daron Bland might return as well, to aid the secondary .

They need to make some changes in Personel. Head Coach Brian Schottenheimer, has already raised the red flag. Players have to step up or they will get benched.  Osa Odighizuwa and newcomer Kenny Clark must elevate their play, while those not playing well need to be benched. Giving the younger players playing time, will send the message that it’s a time of urgency.

The Cowboys still have talent to build around. Diggs needs to step up and show some heart and passion.Javeon Clowney will help with the pass rush, and Osa  Odighizuwa is solid in the trenches, and Clark brings veteran stability. But talent alone isn’t enough without the right scheme and leadership.

If the Cowboys want to compete in 2025, their defense must be a strength and not a weakness. It all starts on Sunday night vs. the Packers
