The New York Yankees are back in the playoffs, for a franchis record 60th appearance.

They beat the Chicago Whitesox 3-2 in a very loud Yankee Stadium in the Bronx on Tuesday Night. Jose Cabalero the Yankees nemesis of season’s past, who as acquired at the teade deadline, with the game winning hit to propel them to the post season.

Yes there were celebrations in the Clubhouse, but very subdued as the Yankees know, this is just the start, of a potential very long playoff run, that hopefully will end with a World Series Victory.

There is still a sour taste, left in their mouths after bowing out to the Loas Angeles Dodgers, last year . The Yankees were very sloppy on the field through out the series, and to add insult to injury, they had to hear the trash talk from the Dodgers all winter. That hasn’t sat well with the Yankees.

Last nights celebration wasn’t loud as normal. The Yankees have some unfinished business to finish. Jazz Chisholm who earlier in the season said”The Yankees are the best team in the league as well as “We will step on a few necks this season.”

Cabalero, who grew up a Yankees fan, and is from Panama, the same as Mariano Rivera, plays with a grit and passion and keeps up the Yankee tradition on the field .

The Yankees want to win the division which they had a 7 game advantage back in May. That is the ultimate goal right now. With the Blue Jays in a swoon, and the Yankees only one game behind with five left, the chance is real. For the Yankees winning the division and getting home field advantage throughout the playoffs will be a big deal. There is nothing like a loud crowd during October baseball in Yankee Stdium.

Max Fried who will pitch this evening, has been the ace of the rotation, with Garrit Cole’s injury and Carlos Rodon who have solidified the rotation have been rock solid. With key addtions in the bullpen this team, has their eye on the prize, and is much focused as the playoffs begin.

This will be a intersting week to see, how they finish the season.

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
