The Dallas Cowboys signed Jadeveon Clowney to a one year contract, on Sunday during the wild win vs the Giants.

Is he the saviour to solve the Dallas Cowboys horrific run defense. He won’t be the saviour but he sure will create havoc for the rest of the defense to excel. A effective pass rush will help the secondary.

A free agent prior to joining the Cowboys, as he spent the 2023 and 2024 seasons with the Carolina Panthers, where he put up some solid sack numbers. He put up 9.5 sacks and 5.0 sacks respectively. He was asked to play more in coverage, which is not his specialty. Don’t expect the Cowboys, to expect him to play any coverage with his signing.

One of the main reasons that Clowney was able to sign with the Cowboys, is due to Head coach Brian Schotteinhimer and his former coach, and current defensive cooridanator, Brian Ebberflus.

Clowney should be ready to suit up, when the Cowboys play the Bears this Sunday, but that decision will fall to head coach Brian Schotteinhimer, as he gets acclaimed to the defensive playbook.

With the Cowboys trading Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers for Kenny Clark, and the emergence of Osa Odighizuwa and Solomon Thomas, made Clowney’s decision much easier over the weekend.

This journey began years ago with Clowney and Schotteinheimer when they were in Seattle, and has continued since.

This is the new Dallas Cowboys. The culture has changed unlike previous years. With Clowney in the mix this defense can be elite, and will make it much easier for the secondary. With Daron Bland sidelined a few games, and Trevon Diggs still working back into game shape, his presence will be immense, when the face teams like the Eagles with Jalen Hurts and other mobile quarterbacks.

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
