It definitely delivered on its promise to get the excitement built up for what was a can’t miss Bristol Night Race.

In the end, it was Christopher Bell who held off a hard charging Brad Keselowski to lock up a first round sweep courtesy of JGR and a major impactful statement made early by Toyota.

Even in this race, the best car all night was Ty Gibbs, who is still searching for his 1st career win lead a race high 201 laps but ended up overshooting pit road costing him valuable time which he could only get back to 10th.

What the 1st round showed is that JGR is the team to beat.

Bowman, Berry, SVG, Dillon Eliminated

The same four that entered the elimination race were the same four that left with their Championship hopes up in smoke.

Bowman really was the one that made the most of the hard charge he had starting 15th and finishing 8th.

Pit road troubles spelled doom through the entire 1st round for the 48 team, and for a car like Hendrick Motorsports to get eliminated in the 1st round is severely disappointing.

Berry was once again bit by the bad luck bug as his rocker panel caught fire causing a massive amount of smoke into the driver cockpit and forcing the 21 off track and out of the race for the 3rd straight race.

Shane Van Gisbergen entered the round +16 and needed to run solid throughout, but the team lacked pace, and Gisbergen himself seemed to be lacking that experience on ovals that many knew might hinder his chances.

Dillon outside of his Richmond win has been a non factor basically every week. The 3 team needed a miracle to basically advance and didn’t get it. Seems like RCR is still missing those race cars that Richard Childress said they were after Dover.

Round of 12 Preview

Byron, Elliott, Larson, Hamlin, Briscoe, Bell, Blaney, Logano, Cindric, Wallace, Reddick, and Chastain make up the Round of 12.

The round is comprised of New Hampshire, Kansas, and the Charlotte Roval.

3 different distinct styles of racetracks that for sure might see a surprise or two happen.
