There has been some interesting allegations being thrown around when it comes to the Mountain West Conference and the PAC-12 Conference.
A hearing was held on Tuesday, in California. A Federal Judge has heard both sides, although a decision has not been made yet.
After the hearing, a spokesperson from the PAC-12 stated that the PAC-12 will be moving forward in the case.
The accusations that have been thrown around is that the PAC-12 was offering schools money to join the conference, in a “poaching scheme”. Which to me, I can see that because look how many teams left the PAC-12… UCLA, Oregon, USC, Washington to the Big Ten. Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado, and Utah to the Big 12. Then, California and Stanford to the ACC.
The accusations include that the PAC-12 offered the first team $10 Million to leave the Mountain West Conference to join the PAC-12. Then $500,000 to any additional programs. On top of that it includes the $17 million plus that the teams are responsible for if they leave the conference.

The PAC – 12 is adding Boise State, Colorado State, Fresno State, San Diego State and Texas State in the summer of 2026.
The PAC -12 asked the courts to dismiss the case because neither side could come up with an agreement through Mediation.
What do you think? Does it all really matter? Should the Mountain West just take the money and let the teams walk?
