Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena
This SmackDown was all about getting people hyped for Saturday Night’s Main Event and Evolution 2. And honestly? It worked. We got a surprise title change, some solid chaos, and enough drama to make you want to tune in this weekend.
LA Knight Opens Strong But Gets Jumped
LA Knight came out swinging tonight. His promo about Seth Rollins being “washed up” felt real, like he actually believes Seth can’t hang with him anymore. Knight calling out the whole Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed situation was smart. He’s positioning himself as the guy who sees through all the bullshit.

Paul Heyman showing up with the briefcase was classic Paul, always keeping you guessing. But then Solo Sikoa rolled up with his new crew and things got interesting fast. Solo telling Heyman “there’s no Wise Man” anymore was a clean break from the old Bloodline stuff. Good move by WWE to not drag that out forever.
Jimmy Uso helping Knight made sense. These two have been through similar stuff with Solo, so why not team up? Sometimes wrestling works best when the logic is simple.
Women’s Four-Way Was Messy But Fun
Alexa Bliss, Kairi Sane, Sol Ruca, and Roxanne Perez put on a solid match, but the finish felt weird. Alexa winning after being pretty quiet for most of the match doesn’t make much sense unless they’re building to something big for her.

Sol Ruca’s Sasuke Special was sick though. That girl can fly and she’s getting better every week. The post-match chaos with everyone fighting was typical WWE, throw bodies at the problem until something sticks.
Charlotte telling Alexa she’s “not a cheerleader” was perfect. Charlotte doesn’t help anybody, and Alexa’s comeback about Charlotte being terrible at it anyway was pretty funny.
Holy Crap – Wyatt Sicks Are Champions
Nobody saw this coming. Joe Gacy and Dexter Lumis beating the Street Profits for the tag titles was the biggest shock of the night. The match was good, Street Profits brought their usual energy while Wyatt Sicks just slowly picked them apart.
Erick Rowan‘s interference was perfect. He pulled Montez Ford off the top rope at exactly the right moment, and that suplex into powerbomb finish looked brutal. This instantly makes Wyatt Sicks feel dangerous instead of just weird.
The backstage segment with all the tag teams arguing over who gets the first shot was realistic. Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa acting like they know better than everyone else was annoying in the best way. Nathan Frazer saying he and Axiom “deserve” the first shot felt like real frustration.
Jelly Roll Gets Attacked, Logan Paul Acts Like a Jerk
The Jelly Roll segment started nice but went off the rails fast. Logan Paul interrupting was perfect heel work, his whole “sacred ring” speech sounded like he actually believed it. That line about custody was brutal and probably too far, but it got people heated.
Randy Orton defending Jelly Roll made sense since they’re in Nashville. Calling Logan an “entitled, whiny bitch” was gold. Then Drew McIntyre came out of nowhere with that Claymore, reminding everyone he’s still got beef with Randy.
Jelly Roll slamming Logan Paul got the biggest pop of the night. The crowd loved seeing their hometown guy stand up for himself. Logan smashing the guitar afterwards was exactly the kind of tantrum you’d expect from him.
Quick Hits That Worked
R-Truth beating Aleister Black was a fun upset. Truth using the chair as a distraction before hitting a rollup was a classic veteran move. Black attacking Damian Priest afterwards was a nice touch, shows he’s losing it.
The Tiffany Stratton and Trish Stratus interview was standard stuff, but both women sold it well. Tiffany’s confidence feels earned, and Trish’s “I already am one of the greatest” line was delivered perfectly.
Naomi showing up with the briefcase was smart, can’t let people forget about Money in the Bank. Jade Cargill attacking her afterwards keeps that storyline moving.
Main Event Chaos
The main event tag match was exactly what you’d expect from a go-home show, decent wrestling with lots of interference. Solo and JC Mateo worked well together, and Knight and Jimmy had good chemistry.
The finish was pure chaos and it worked. Paul Heyman with his phone, Tala Tonga with the boot, Jimmy hitting the surprise rollup, it all happened fast and got the crowd going. But the real story was after the match.

Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed destroying Knight with that spear-Tsunami combo looked nasty. Knight selling it like he was dying was perfect. Now he goes into Saturday Night’s Main Event as the underdog who got his ass kicked.
The Verdict
This SmackDown did its job. It wasn’t perfect, but it made you want to see what happens next. The Wyatt Sicks winning the tag titles was huge, they went from weird side characters to legitimate champions in one night.
All the celebrity stuff worked for what it was. Jelly Roll looked good, Logan Paul got heat, and Randy Orton stayed relevant.
Rating: 6.5/10 or C+
Looking Forward
Knight’s beatdown sets up a perfect underdog story for Saturday. The new tag champions have instantly made the division more interesting. And the women’s matches have enough star power to deliver.
This wasn’t the greatest SmackDown ever, but it was a solid setup show that accomplished what it needed to.
