Cincinnati Reds third baseman Noelvi Marte had an MRI before he was to begin a rehab assignment in Arizona. It appears that the MRI went well. Noelvi began a rehab assignment with the ACL Reds on Friday and performed well. He hit a line drive single to score prospect Tyson Lewis, who tripled, in the 1st inning and hit a fly ball single in the 7th for his second RBI of the game. He was pulled in the 8th for a defensive replacement. I should note, both hits were to the opposite field, something Marte does very well.

This is a positive sign for the Reds. Marte provides a significant offensive upgrade over Santiago Espinal. Defensively, Marte needs more reps, but does have the potential to be league average or better defensively.
