It was standing room only on January 4th at the Blue Grass Community Center as SCW Pro returned with their Annual Prestige event, highlighted by the Prestige Rumble. The Rumble guarantees a championship match at Epic, but the winner would have to go through twenty-five other competitors to get there.

Clawed Glove on a Pole for the QC Cup: Ript Studwell vs. JT Energy

The goal of this match is to obtain a clawed glove suspended by Vince Russo booking before pinfalls or submissions are counted. Studwell arrived with a patch over his eye, courtesy of a clawing from Energy at Seasons Beatings. Energy looked to start playing mind games with his injured opponent when Studwell revealed his eye was fine and began an offensive onslaught. At least until Energy slowed this progress with a low blow and some offense of his own. Studwell eventually obtained the glove, but the wily Energy had a spare. Unfortunately, both claws were put to use on Energy as he was neutered by a testicular claw partnered with a claw to the eyes to allow the champ to retain the cup.

We cut to earlier in the evening, as Joe Carrey is checking out competitor’s numbers for the Prestige Rumble…only find a waiting BeeGee the Gorilla waiting for him!

Iowa Championship: The Corn Boi vs. John Bonhart w/Mark Storm

Corn Boi started the match smothering the challenger, releasing months of frustration. However, Mark Storm gave a needed distraction to allow Bonhart to take over. Despite Bonhart’s innovative offense, the champion refused to quit. Corn Boi even managed to fight back and looked to have victory in hand when Mark Storm tossed a shoe into the ring, distracting the referee long enough to allow Bonhart to hit a spear with the Iowa Championship draped over his shoulder to end Corn Boi’s second reign as champion. Bonhart and Storm stood tall over the fallen, former champion.

Backstage, JP Finger is giving Krotch a pep talk before his SCW Pro Championship match. Krotch excuses himself and sees Shane Hollister, who is putting on his vestments. Krotch asked Shug what happened to the old Shug. Shug responded that he’s been lost and didn’t know who he was anymore. Krotch tells Shug that whatever he’s looking for, it’s not with Eric Eznite and to remember who Shane Hollister is.

Title vs. Career for the SCW Pro Championship Eric Eznite w/Malik Champion & Augustus Draven vs. Krotch w/JP Finger

If Krotch failed to win the championship, his SCW Pro career is over. Krotch took the fight to the champion, confounding Eznite throughout the early goings of the match. However, the numbers game was too much and there were too many bodies for Krotch to keep track of. Eznite used these to his advantage but was not able to keep the challenger down. The referee, in his infinite bias, attempted to maintain decorum by booting the Chosen and Finger from ringside. However, the flaw in his plan was that he would have to move when wrestlers came his way, and the ref was bumped. Shane Hollister arrived…but chose not to interfere. Krotch hit the Krotch Rocket for a visual ten count, but the ref was still biasedly unconscious. However, the ref was awake enough to catch the trail of Heaven’s Gate, Crucifix Bomb, and the Epiphanknee that spelled the end of the SCW Pro original.

After the match, Marek Brave came to the ring and hugged Krotch as Krotch received a standing ovation from the Blue Grass crowd.

Presige Rumble

Twenty-five men enter, Royal Rumble style for a chance at the SCW Pro Championship. Johnny Wisdom chose #1 after winning a mini-royale…saying a lot about the Iowa educational system. #2 was “The Gentleman Barbarian” Bruss Hamilton, so we are starting out with a hoss fight. Highlights include: Rookie Hector del Toro busting Hamilton open the hard way. SCW Pro rookie of the year, Calvin Kelly took his sweet time entering the rumble. Robin Steele returned. Dante Leon decided he needed snacks and a beer before actually participating in the Rumble. Mason Beck and Bruss Hamilton played catch with Casey Jax. Joe Carrey was chased into the ring by BeeGee the Gorilla and promptly eliminated. Mason Beck chopped Cash Kennedy on the chest, the back and the derrière. Former SCW Pro Champion, “The Devil Dog” Dustin Moseley returned. We had the reunifications of InFAMy and Thumb and Finger. Latin Thunder made a post-retirement appearance. The final four were JT Energy, Deonn Rusman, Shane Hollister, and Johnny Wisdom. Rusman was eliminated by an already eliminated Moseley. Energy was eventually taken out by Hollister. Wisdom and Hollister fought on the ring apron, but Hollister was knocked inside. One buzzsaw kick later…your winner and new #1 contender for the SCW Pro Championship, “The Felonious Monk” Shane Hollister.

Hollister’s win sets up the next beat in the Hollister/Chosen storyline, as Hollister is a member of the Chosen, whose leader, Eric Eznite, is the SCW Pro Champion. The author brought these concerns to Eznite and was told to have faith. This author trusts Malik Champion, Augustus Draven, and even the Wizard CZ more than Hollister.

SCW Pro will continue this and other action-packed stories at Wildwood Smokehouse in Iowa City, Iowa on January 18th. SCW Pro can be found on social media on Facebook and Twitter.

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
