I was wrong. I admit it and will take full responsibility. Juan Soto landing with the Mets was not in my game plan. Or with any other team beside the New York Yankees.
I have supported him from Day One and especially after my first trip to new Yankee Stadium in late July. Beside seeing the Cathedral and Aaron Judge for the first time in person, I was most impressed with Soto.
He honestly seemed to be in tune with the fans and loved to be there! Wearing the Pinstripes looked like an honor, even from our seats on the first base line. He hit two homers that day and reveled in the fan support.
So what made him give up what he seemed to love? I'll never forget the picture of him being the last man out of the dug out when we lost the World Series. What was in his mind at that moment?

Evidently it was the thought of leaving the Yankees for pure greed. That he might never wear the Pinstripes again and that money was everything.
He demonstrated that with his decision. And the fact that he chose money over pride, the team, his friends on it, and us fans.
You duped me and so many others. Shame on you. Enjoy wearing orange, Grimace and Queens. Just wait for your first trip back to where should be home for life.
I was wrong. And you were too. Shame on you.

Quote of the week

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
