Bears made history for the 1st time in their storied franchise.

Bears let Matt Eberflus walk after 2.5 years as Head Coach in time he went 14-32 and was a disastrous 2-13 in NFC North contests.

However, the Bears issues go well beyond Head Coach and maybe well beyond the GM. Since the start of the 2011 season, the Bears have hired and fired 6 different coaches.

Lovie Smith in 2012, Marc Trestman in 2014, John Fox in 2017, Matt Nagy in 2021, and Matt Eberflus in 2024.

As much as the organization has been scrutinized at the failure of Quarterbacks, their head coaches since Mike Ditka was let go after the 1992 season have left plenty to be desired.

Make no mistake this decision will be even more important than selecting Caleb Williams at #1 overall. The Bears must get this hire right if they are to take that next step towards Playoff contention and than Super Bowl.

There will be no shortage of candidates available but now it’s on Chicago’s Front Office to figure it out.

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
