Two years ago the New York Jets seemed to be the center of excitement going into the NFL season.

That excitement stemmed from their acquisition of future HOF Quarterback Aaron Rodgers. The hype train derailed almost immediately with Rodgers suffering a season ending injury on the very first drive of the game. Fast forward past a disappointing season and Rodgers was ready to suit up and strive for his second Super Bowl title. That dream has quickly crumbled as the Jets currently sit at 3-8 on the season and have seemingly cleaned house with the firing of Head Coach Robert Saleh and GM Joe Douglas.

This major change in staff has now made it clear the Jets’ ownership wants to move in an entirely different direction than the 40 year-old Quarterback. It was reported first by The Athletic’s Diana Russini on Saturday who cited sources claiming that Rodgers could be heading for the injured reserve and be shut down for the remainder of the season.

Rusinni also claimed that sources around the league wouldn’t be shocked if Rodgers was cut during the season. This development opens the door for another exciting offseason of Aaron Rodgers filled drama that will surely be major headlines across all NFL media.

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
