Two teams going in different directions, will face each other in the battle of Texas, when the lackluster Dallas Cowboys face their instate rivals the Houston Texas at Arlington Stadium on Monday Night Football.

The Texans and the Cowboys have two victories combined between the two teams, in the past month but clearly these two teams are going in different directions.This is the seventh meeting between these two teams, for bragging rights with the rivalry that started 22 years ago, with the Texans winning the inaugral game.

C. J Stroud, who was the 2024 NFL rookie of the year is going through the roughest four game stretch in his young career. But he has shown much maturity and should able to bounce back.

Houston (6-4) still leads the AFC South despite its current 1-3 skid, while the Cowboys (3-6) are on a four game losing streak and in serious danger of a three-year playoff run ending. They already have one more loss than in each of their past three 12-5 seasons.

The Cowboys are coming off a horrific performance, minus Dak Prescott, who had season ending hamstring surgery, while Cooper Rush and Trey Lance showed no fight in leading the offense. Maybe playing their cross state rivals will give the Cowboys some motivation.

The Cowboys are a horrific 0-4 at home, in which they won 16 in a row before losing to the Packers in last year’s NFC Wild Card game. And a majority of the losses this year have come in blow out fashion.

Stroud’s quarterback rating has been below 100 percent for the first time during this 1-3 rutt the Texans are currently in.

The Cowboys have had trouble getting pressure on the quarterback, while Micah Parsons was out with an injury. But against the Eagles he chipped in with two sacks and energized the defense. And Demarvion Overshown with his burst of speed and energy got two sacks as well .

Final Prediction and Analysis:

With the battle of Texas on the line, the Cowboys must show some fight, in the passing game with Cooper Rush and get the running game going. If Micah Parsons can get pressure on C. J Stroud and keep him in the pocket, and committ a few turnovers they will have a chance at the end.
