For Chicago Bears fans over the years we have seen our fair share of misery.

4th & 8.

Double Doink.

But, what happened on Sunday perfectly summed up the 2024 season for the Chicago Bears.

Bears had the ball and it was 3rd & 19 from their own 21 and in dire need of a big play. After taking 2 straight sacks Caleb Williams was able to locate Rome Odunze on a 16 yard grab to keep hopes alive.

He then proceeded to go back to Odunze on a back shoulder throw that got them down to the Green Bay 43 yard line.

Williams then found Keenan Allen on a 12 yard catch that set them up at the Green Bay 30. What followed is what was most important.

Instead of a heightened sense of urgency to possibly gain more yards for an easier Field Goal the Bears elected to run 1 one play and then kick a 46 yarder.

Now, Cairo Santos has been basically perfect inside 50 yards but we saw just a couple hours later what happens when you coach aggressively vs not.

Jim Harbaugh, a coach that the Bears could have chosen to go after, decided to keep running even though the Chargers were already in Field Goal range.

What happened? A touchdown that effectively gave the Chargers their 6th win.

Countless times over the last 3 years the Bears have taken victories away from themselves and Sunday was just another example of that.

Quote of the week

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
