We head to U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota for tonights Sunday night football matchup, between the visiting Indianapolis Colts and the Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings have been one of the NFL biggest surprises as they started the season 5-0. Dropping two straight games, Minnesota does come into this matchup with some extra rest after losing last Thursday against the Rams. Minnesota has played well at home with a 3-1 record so far.

Indianapolis made a much needed what seems to be permanent change at quarterback, after announcing the benching of Anthony Richardson for Joe Flacco. I was never high on Richardson who has a great arm to throw the deep ball, but struggles in the intermediate passing game and can’t stay healthy. After quitting on his teammates in a division game he shouldn’t take another snap for the Colts, but that’s a conversation for another day.

The one thing no matter who’s been at the helm for the Colts, is their ability to cover the spread. Indy is 7-1 against the spread this season the best in the NFL. They’re 3-0 on the road as an underdog. Minnesota is only 2-2 when listed as a favorite this season.

This matchup should have a playoff feel to it with the Vikings trying to get back into the win column and the Colts having an extra pep in their step with the new changes at QB. With that said I’m expecting Indy to keep it close like they’ve done all year.

Official Pick: Colts +5.5 -110

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
