“If only the Chicago Bears had an average offense.”
It’s a cliche that rings in and out of the ears of fans that watch every given Sunday of the city that prides itself in orange and blue.
But how can the Bears correct their otherwise inconsistent offense. Well first it all starts with pouring the rock. The NFL since 2013 has adopted a pass heavy offensive philosophy but defenses are getting smarter and stacking the box less and making teams take simple plays instead of big chunks. But how the Bears can correct it is with the run game.

The Bears have 3 backs in D’Andre Swift, Khalil Herbert, and Roschon Johnson that each have only on average about 2.4 yards per carry through 3 games. This coming off a performance where the Bears struggling run game made rookie QB Caleb Williams throw 52 times. That performance was against statistically the worst run defense in the NFL in the Colts.

Another thing is get back to moving the pocket a little more. Most NFL teams seemingly never have their QB dropkick 30+ times anymore. One of Williams strengths is throwing on the run and that can enable him to get out to a comfortable level and get the ball rolling.
Through 4 games it has been very up and down. Sure Williams isn’t looking like the sure thing many were projecting but there is still optimism it can be fixed.
