MLW ran their taped show from Center Stage, Atlanta Georgia: MLW Pit Fighters. Most of the matches have some sort of stipulation bound to bring a level of violence to make Cesar Duran proud. Joe Dombrowski and Christian Cole are at the commentary booth for the show as the Rogue Horsemen make their way to the ring.
Brett Ryan Gosselin is going to be doing the talking tonight for the group. He insults the crowd, before putting over Bobby Fish as a legend, deserving of respect. This indirectly leads to our opening contest.

Bobby Fish w/The Rogue Horsemen vs. Kevin Knight
Knight is making his in ring debut tonight after making his presence felt at Fightland, thwarting a Horsemen attack. The Andersons ran distraction at several points, trying to stop Knight’s momentum, but only truly succeeding when Knight decided to leap over the ring post to dive upon the Andersons. This gave Fish enough time to recover, dodging a Knight springboard frog splash before finishing Knight with a running elbow for the pin.
After the match, the Horsemen look to lay a beatdown, but the Bomaye Fight Club intervene, running the Horsemen off. Kane had words with Fish and BRG before turning his attention to Knight. Kane notes that it’s dangerous to go alone in MLW and that he respects Knight’s hustle. Kane offers Knight a spot in the Bomaye Fight Club. Knight accepts. We shall see how this works for him and ignore the fates of J Boujii and O’Shay Edwards.
Mister Saint Laurant is with “Filthy” Tom Lawlor. Lawlor has a match with everyone’s favorite fast-food breakfast tonight. They call the sandwich a fake tough guy and they are going to take his number one contendership.
AKIRA is backstage. He is looking to take his pound of flesh from Ikuro Kwon, win, lose, or draw.

MLW Featherweight Championship Tae Kwon Do Fight: Janai Kai (c) vs. Delmi Exo w/Azteca Henchmen 6 & 9
Delmi is finally getting a rematch for the championship she once held. This is a tae kwon do fight with the only rules stated being no strikes below the belt. Kai toys with Exo, peppering her with kicks and trying to injure the left arm. Exo is knocked down and the ref separates the two…evidently that is a rule too. Note that. Exo launches a comeback with chops that sends Kai to the outside. Outside, Kai is done playing pump-kicking the Azteca Henchmen and throwing Exo into the side of the ring before rolling her into the ring. In the ring, Kai is laser focused on the arm. Kai drops Exo, takes the arm, and kicking it until the ref has no choice but to stop the match. Janai Kai retains due to ref stoppage. I guess don’t kick them while they are down was not a real rule.
An extended video package airs about and narrated by Mistico. We see Mistico in and out of the ring as he talks about Lucha Libre being synonymous with Mexican culture and being proud to represent Mexico and MLW around the world.
We get the video of Ultimo Guerrero challenging Satoshi Kojima for the MLW Championship. This was to take place at Slaughterhouse, which recently cancelled due to Hurricane Helene.
Barrio Brawl: Jesus Rodriguez vs. Matthew Justice w/Bill Alfonso
Justice ran afoul of Bad Dude Tite at Fightland and now must deal with Tito’s Promociones Dorado stablemate Rodriguez. Why this is a barrio brawl…the world may never know. Justice, however, was not going to wait for answers, attacking Rodriguez with a chair during Rodriguez’s entrance. It was a wild brawl throughout the crowd with Justice doing most of the damage until Rodriguez introduced a slap jack to the fight. Luckily, Justice had two tables, a door, and Bill Alfonso to run interference. Justice made a mighty leap of the top of the exit tunnel before hitting a DVD through a door and a Van Terminator to finally put down Rodriguez.
After the match, Bad Tito Tito attacks Justice, hitting the Tequila Screwdriver onto an open chair, busting the exhausted Justice open. Of course, Justice’s BFF the 1 Called Manders was nowhere to be found.
We get a hype video for the impending debut of Trevor Lee. He will be battling Donovan Dijak at Slaughterhouse.
BJJ vs Boxing Exhibition: Randall Royce vs. Danny Stratos
MLW announced this exhibition without naming participants…this means shenanigans are bound to occur. After several minutes of pantomiming playfighting, Donovan Dijak (with MSL) saves us by destroying the competitors and their entourage. Dijak cuts a promo running down boxing and BJJ. Honestly…this was almost as much as a waste of time as any (McG)Riddle match.
A video airs showing the formation of the Rogue Horsemen, featuring JBL speaking to Brock Anderson before clotheslining Mr. Thomas at Fightland. JBL is shown leaving the arena without talking to the rando cameraman that is filming him.
Paul Walter Hauser addresses the viewers live via satellite. He misses his MLW family, name drops a bunch of MLW wrestlers, before making threats at JBL. Emmy’s!
Atlanta Street Fight: BRG vs. Alex Kane w/Mr. Thomas
BRG tries to start things hot with various strikes, but Kane powers through with his trademark suplexes. Cookies sheets are liberally used before BRG capitalizes on Kane playing to the crowd. Kane does get to tee off on a trash can wearing BRG with a bat before BRG clocked Kane with a gold bar. Have you seen gold prices recently? Kane dodges a BRG chain wrapped fist drop to cradle BRG with a fisherman’s suplex to get the three count.
Afterwards, the Horsemen attack and lay out the Bomayes…or at least Kane and Thomas. New member Kevin Knight was nowhere to be found.
Tai Pei Death Match: AKIRA vs. Ikuro Kwon
Our competitors dip their wrists in the bowl of glass set in the middle of the ring. This bowl is left in the ring as the match starts. Don’t tell OSHA. AKIRA immediately goes for several cradle pinfalls, putting the match in deathmatch. It wasn’t long before glass comes into play and Kwon double stomped AKIRA’s face into the glass, leaving AKIRA a bloody mess. However, AKIRA had a fork and got some good forkin’ in at various points. Kwon brought the fight with various strikes and even a German suplex. Kwon drives onto the fork and gets locked in a crossface for a nice photo op. AKIRA hit what I’m told is a cutthroat diver (shout out to the Briscoes), but only gets two. With nothing else being effective, Kwon resorts to using the poison mist and the shining wizard to keep AKIRA down.
Mads Krugger cuts a promo calling MLW Champion Satoshi Kojima a wounded animal that he is hunting.
Allegedly there was a main event. No there wasn’t. There was only the travesty of “Filthy” Tom Lawlor being kicked out of the World Titan Federation via Donovan Dijak attack. Man, Lawlor was the only member of that group that fit the group aesthetic…and had been loyal.
So ends MLW Pit Fighters. A very mixed bag of an event that featured a batch of gimmick matches, mostly for the sake of having gimmick matches. There were no connecting factors between matches. MLW’s saving grace has always been the in-ring action of its competitors, however, these gimmicks shoehorned talent, and the creative gaffes bled through into the matches themselves. This led to one of the one of the more disappointing MLW events in quite some time.
We are hopeful that MLW would have been able to turn things around with Slaughterhouse. Unfortunately, due to Hurricane Helene, Slaughterhouse has been canceled and the next announced event will be Lucha Apocalypo November 9th.
