The Baltimore Ravens rolled into AT&T Stadium 0-2 determined to get a victory. The 1-1 Dallas Cowboys were coming off their first regular season home defeat in 2 years and were looking to start another winning streak. The Ravens left Texas with a 28-25 victory.
Ravens Had a Plan
From the first possession on, the Baltimore Ravens focused on the run and Dallas had no answer. The Ravens were led by Derrick Henry, who seemed unstoppable, amassing 151 yards and two touchdowns over the course of the game. Lamar Jackson, not to be outdone, used both his legs and arm, rushing for 87 yards and a touchdown while also throwing for another. This offensive performance was a clear statement silencing the doubts of an 0-2 start.

Cowboys Comeback
Down 28-6 in the 4th quarter Dak Prescott got the Cowboys back in the game, mounting a spirited comeback that featured 3 touchdowns and a successful onside kick by Brandon Aubrey, the first of the 2024 NFL season. Aubrey had already nailed a franchise-record 65-yard field goal earlier in the game. After their third TD of the 4th quarter the Cowboys kicked the ball away with 3 timeouts in their back pocket. The Cowboys were unfortunately not able to get another chance on offense as the Ravens managed 2 more first downs and ran out the clock. Prescott finish 28/51 for 379 yards, 2 TD passes, and 1 TD on the ground.

Cowboys on “Short Week”
The Cowboys won’t have much time to reflect on this disappointment as they face a NFC East opponent on the road Thursday (the New York Giants). Several players including CeeDee Lamb (who had a crucial fumble at the Raven’s 10-yard line early in the game) and Micah Parsons were visibly and verbally frustrated on the sideline during the game. Many fans and critics are pointing at the Cowboys’ “Culture” as a major issue that must be addressed before the season begins to slip away.
The Cowboys hope that the momentum they got going in the fourth quarter will carry into MetLife stadium where the 1-2 Cowboys are currently 4-point favorites to beat the 1-2 Giants.
