Obviously all sports are a game of numbers, lets consider playing a game of Wheel of Fortune. It’s my turn; “Can I get an H?” with this letter ‘H’ lets look at hurt, yeah yeah injured sounds more professional, but play along with me here. Lets take a look at some players that are hurt; either come week 2 or ones who were hurt before the season started.
Christian McCaffrey superstar RB of the San Francisco 49ers is hurt (calf/achillies tendon) backup running back Jordan Mason as I figured, stepped up in a HUGE way Monday vs the Jets. Mason carried the ball 28 times for 147 yards with one touchdown. Can Mason replicated that next week if he should get the start again? Who knows? Here’s another ‘H’ I have a hunch he will continue to be very productive being the lead RB as long as he remains healthy. If Jordan Mason is still unowned in your fantasy leagues scoop him up ASAP.
Lets be blunt here; the Carolina panthers stink 😂 they need ‘h’elp in a bad way all around with their team. Sticking with the RB situation here, Chubba Hubbard is definitely not RB1 material (I wouldn’t roster Hubbard in a 20 team league) especially after his dismal performance in week 1, Hubbard rushed 6 times for a measly 14 yards. Jonathan Brooks RB who is out hurt for at least the next 4 games (recovering from an ACL injury) is a rookie, but once he became RB1 at Texas with the Longhorns he ran for 1,100 yards and 10 TDs. I’m gonna go on a hunch here and say that Brooks blows up and puts Hubbard and Miles Sanders in his dust. The Panthers are still gonna suck this year, but I really think even after missing 4 or 5 games Brooks finishes in the top 20 for his position come season’s end.

I’m going to look at a WR right now Ricky Pearsall of San Francisco 49ers, there’s gonna be a few letter ‘H’ used here. Pearsall is hurt with a non-football injury, Ricky Pearsall was shot during an armed robbery on August 31st. Pearsall was shot in the chest, the bullet travelled through not touching any vital organs.
“It’s a miracle. Where he got shot is like two inches below his tattoo with praying hands. The whole story is kind of amazing.”
The hope is that Pearsall helps San Francisco’s offense this year is up in the air seeing that he isn’t projected to be back till week 5, however throw him in the mix with Brandon Aiyuk and Deboo Samuel and the 49ers and Pearsall are on their way deep into the playoffs again. Individually from a fantasy perspective Ricky will be WR3 on the 49ers but he could make an impact on fantasy teams depending on the size of your roster. My hunch Pearsall’s numbers will still be very good even as a WR3, he’s probably looking at 500-550 yards and a few TDs. That is respectable especially given the time he is going to miss. Dynasty League managers will want Pearsall regardless.

Los Angeles Rams WR Puka Nacua one of last season’s brightest stars was targeted 160 times, receiving the ball 105 times for 6 TDs an amazing 1486 yards. Puka is a very special player who runs the routes well and has amazing hands with great bursts of speed down the field. Being that Nacua is out “several” weeks, we are hoping history of being hurt is over for Cooper Kupp and he can stay healthy and carry the Rams to the playoffs with hopes of hoisting the Lombardi Trophy 🏆
I’ll look to write another piece based on a gameshow again soon, HOPEFULLY you enjoyed this article and you can use some of it for the coming weeks in your leagues.
