On September 7th, SCW Pro returned to the Blue Grass Community Center in Blue Grass Iowa to celebrate their 21st Anniversary. A major milestone for any independent promotion. All SCW Pro’s championships will be defended in celebration, feuds come to end, and we may be moving on to a new era within the company.
Ript Sudwell vs. John Bonhart w/Mark Storm QC Cup
Ript Studwell has been a thorn in John Bonhart’s side since June and finally gets an opportunity at the QC Cup. Mark Storm is dressed to the nines, even sporting golden shoes for the occasion. Bonhart dominated most of the match with his brand of unique offense, with the occasional aide from Storm. Studwell, with the crowd’s support managed to mount brief comebacks with various forms of the tornado DDT. Despite the odds, the perennial underdog, Studwell used his alleged size advantage to splash his way to victory, becoming the new SCW Pro QC Cup holder. This is Studwell’s first championship in SCW Pro.

Niko Kline vs. Chuck Brewster
Hey! Niko Kline is back. Brewster was a barn of fire, doing laps around the ring and shoving Kline during a lap. Brewster also claimed that he would kill Kline…signifying a blood feud that even Kline was not aware of. Brewster did not kill Kline but did the next best thing: disposing of his rival in quick fashion with a Vader Bomb.

Strictly Rizzness (Cash Kennedy & Calvin Kelly) vs. Krotch & JP Finger
I am old and am still not sure what “rizz” is, but I guess Kelly and Kennedy have it in spades. They are also one of the new teams on the block. Lots of back-and-forth action with solid tag team psychology shown and the young lions took it to the team of veterans in Krotch and Finger. This did not stop Kelly from getting trapped in Finger’s Greco-Roman Prostate Exam. Despite the thorough examination, Rizzness put Krotch away with the Magic Killer for a big win.
Bruss Hamilton vs. “Disfigured” James Thomas & Brandon Becker
Hamilton has been dealing with Thomas since March when Hamilton disfigured Thomas by throwing him face first into the ring post during a battle royale. Hamilton looks to finally get his hands on Thomas unimpeded in this handicap match. Hamilton really wanted to get his hands on Thomas, but Becker kept saving his employer, doing most of the offensive work while Thomas screamed orders. Hamilton defied the odds and looked to put Becker away with a splash off the ropes, but Becker pulled the ref on top of himself to defy physics and take the entirety of the force. That’s how you deal with ref bias. With the ref at bay, the hammer will play. No, not Greg Valentine, but Thomas’ trusty hammer. Hamilton withstood several blows, but a final hammer shot from the middle rope put the strong man down for three.

Corn Boi vs. Kaia McKenna vs. Dante Leon vs. Deonn Rusman Iowa Championship
McKenna is a late substitute for Shain Boucher who was pulled from the match. I blame Dante Leon. The match was chaotic, as you would expect from a multi-person match, with most of the faces unwilling to strike the Conduit of Karma…this did not apply to graps (or Dante Leon) though. We had dives to the outside, towers of doom, and a “Mr. President!” spot. The finish came when Rusman was knocked out, Leon hit a GTS on Corn Boi, knocking Corn Boi out onto Rusman, technically pinning the Iceberg. I would say that Corn Boi defied the odds with this title retention, but I ran the numbers, and he had a 166 2/3 percent chance of winning.

After the match, John Bonhart stormed the ring and beat down Corn Boi, standing tall with the Iowa Championship, signifying his intention to move on to Iowa Championship contention.
After intermission, Knight Wagner enters the SCW Pro Hall of Fame. Despite being one of the best talkers in SCW, Knight had a difficult time believing that he would be in this position. Wagner thanked those who helped him throughout his career ranging from Danny Daniels, Marek Brave, Krotch, and lastly the crowd for his lengthy career in front of the crowd and behind the microphone. A surprisingly earnest speech.

The Chosen (Malik Champion & Augustus Draven) vs. JaxAmore (Casey Jax & Tigre Amore Tag Team Championship
The Chosen look to take tag gold as well as Heavyweight Championship, as they get another opportunity at JaxAmore. The Chosen looked strong during the match, working in tandem to batter the champions. Unfortunately, the match broke down, and in the chaos, Jax hit a whirly gig from the top rope to retain the titles.
Mason Beck vs. Carlos Oliva w/Johnny Wisdom
This is Oliva’s third attempt to best the “Walking Horror Film”. It’s like the boy is trying to die. This time, Johnny Wisdom as taken Oliva under his wing to defeat Beck. Wisdom was announced as being in Oliva’s corner…but left after the introduction. Beck once again toyed with his prey, refusing to even do his much popular chops, instead focusing on slams and headlocks. Wisdom eventually decided to return to cheer his student on, which gave the rookie enough energy to rollup Beck for the surprise victory.

“The Devil Dog” Dustan Moseley vs. Eric Eznite SCW Pro Championship
Shane Hollister was supposed to be in Eznite’s corner or feel the wrath of the Chosen. Spoiler alert, Hollister was not there. Moseley has tights for the occasion. Despite this, we still have the match. The match started hot and heavy as, Eznite tried to attack before the bell. Eznite outmaneuvered the champion wearing Moseley down with strikes and holds. Moseley mounted a comeback but took out the ref in the process. With the ref no longer in the way, Moseley had to fight off Malik Champion and Augustus Draven, who charged the ring. With the Chosen dispatched, Moseley got a visual pin after a jackhammer…but the ref was still dead. At this point, the match was interrupted by the dulcet tones of Shane Hollister’s music, leading to the Shug hitting the ring. Shug locked Eznite in a front facelock looking as if Shug was going to hit the brainbuster, but swerve bro, Shug dropped Eznite and hit Moseley with the brainbuster, putting his hands together before leaving the ring. Eznite followed up with two epiphanknees to allow the ref ample time to awake to count the three and give the championship to Eznite. The Chosen celebrated their title win in the ring in front of the stunned crowd.
The show ended in a shocking turn of events that left the crowd wondering why the ever-popular Hollister succumbed to the influence of Eznite and his Chosen. Overall, the show itself was a roller coaster of emotions with big wins, disappointing losses, and surprises, that has been a staple of SCW Pro.
