There will be three high profile quarterbacks, that will share the limelight, on Sunday afternoon, in the opener between the Dallas Cowboys and the Cleveland Browns.

Of course only two of them, will be on the field.

Dak Prescott, and Deshaun Watson will battle each other on the field, in whatever will be make or break seasons for both of them, future Hall of Famer Tom Brady, will make his broadcasting debut on Fox Televison.

For Cleveland, they are hoping that Watson, who broke a bone in his throwing shoulder last November, will be the savior they have been looking for, and his $230 million contract, will not be a wasted investment.

The Browns, didn’t play Watson in the pre-season this year, in an effort to keep him healthy, and ready for the 2024-2025 season. Until Watson gets into a groove, the Browns will rely heavily on their defense, to keep them in games .

They are led by standout defensive rusher, Miles Garrett who is ironically, and a Texas Native.

As usual in Dallas, expectations are high for the Cowboys. Super Bowl or bust. Those expectations come with the aura of being America’s Team.

The Cowboys have had great regular seasons, the last three years, but have fizzled in the playoffs, including last years disappointing loss, vs the Packers in the Wild Card Game. This could be a win or else season in Dallas.

Prescott who had his best season, with (36 Touchdowns, and 4516 yards,) wants a contract extension, to remain in Dallas and lead them to a Superbowl. They haven’t won the Lombardi Trophy since 1995 which seems like a century ago.

Both teams have to rebuild their offensive lines. The Cowboys will start two rookies, and for the Browns it will be a coin toss. So look for the Cowboys defense to have some success taking control in the trenches.

Tyler Guyton will go up against, Miles Garrett, which will be the rookies first big test.

Recently signed Cowboys wide receiver Ceedee Lamb, looks like he will be ready to go on Sunday, after a contract dispute and missed training camp. He signed a whopping $136 million dollar contract extension, just last week.

Game Prediction: It will be a close game, as Dak Prescott will find his rhythm in the second half and look for the Cowboys defense to have success in that second half and win a close one. If the defense can keep Deshaun Watson in the pocket and keep, Amari Cooper at bay, and get a few turnovers, it will lead to victory.

Final Prediction: Dallas Cowboys 31 Cleveland Browns 17

Quote of the week

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
