On August 10th, SCW Pro returned to the Blue Grass Community Center in Blue Grass, Iowa and we are on the road to Anniversary. An earlier start time did not affect the crowd, as the Community Center was nearly full.
The Corn Boi vs. JT Energy, SCW Pro Iowa Championship
The Corn Boi is looking to continue holding the flag as champion of Iowa, but first he needs to vanquish a roadblock in the form of JT Energy. Energy believes Corn Boi tapped to the breath taker last month, making Energy the rightful #1 contender to the SCW Pro Championship. Corn Boi was fired up, much to the chagrin of Energy. Despite the initial volley of offense, Energy controlled most of the match until a battle of dueling pins culminated in Corn Boi locking in a magistral cradle to retain the championship.
Mason Beck vs. Carlos Oliva
Oliva was nearly killed by Beck last month and appears to be trying to die. Beck was willing to oblige with his trademark hard chops and high impact offense. Oliva did get the opportunity to stagger the big man before, once again, falling victim to the Beck Bomb.
John Bonhart & “Disfigured” James Thomas w/Mark Storm & Brandon Becker vs. SCW Pro’s Strongest Men (Ript Studwell & Bruss Hamilton)
In what was supposed to be a tag team contest, turned into a handicap match as Hamilton did not come out to the ring. Instead, we were treated to a video of Hamilton being beaten backstage by Bonhart and Thomas, with the final blow coming from a hammer. Despite being what amounted to a four on one assault, Studwell fought valiantly. Luckily, the backstage beating was not enough to keep the bearded beast away from the ring, with Hamilton charging to the ring to have his revenge. This revenge was finalized in the form of rocket launcher, with Studwell crashing down on Bonhart.
It was announced that current SCW Pro commentator Knight Wagner will be entering the SCW Pro Hall of Fame at anniversary. No one evidently told Knight prior as he was overcome with emotion at the announce desk.
ACH vs. Krotch w/JP Finger
ACH is back and he at least added black tights to wear under his gym shorts. This time, he takes on twenty-year vet in the hip shaking hero, Krotch. Krotch took a beating that left red welts across his back and chest, while ACH looked as if he enjoyed every minute of it. Krotch did manage to land most of his greatest hits, but it was not enough, falling to the tiger driver-cloverleaf jackknife pin combination.
Calvin Kelly vs. Big Daddy Dion
Big Daddy Dion is making his SCW Pro debut tonight. His first challenge is in the form of the “Rizz God” (I feel dirty typing that). Dion showed potential, surviving a trifecta of German suplexes and dealing some sharp looking offense in his own right. However, it was a famouser that put the upstart down in a strong showing.
Brandon Becker vs. Jared Thumb
James Thomas’ security gets a match that does not involve a Thomas feud. Who’s guarding Thomas then? That being said, Becker got a surprising amount of offense in. Unfortunately, Becker’s security training did include firearms as Thumb gave him the click, click boom and a stunner to end the match.
Dominik Zagreus vs. Chuck Brewster
I had not seen Zagreus before. He looks like Finn Balor and Ace Austin had a baby. A baby filled with abs that will most likely brutally beat me for saying such a thing. If the beating he gave Chuck is any indication what he would do to a lesser man, I should hide in my bunker now. The rookie could have had Chuck beat with a nasty curb stomp to the ring steps, but Zagreus wanted to pin Chuck in the ring. The referee showed his bias by assisting to hauling of Chuck into the ring itself. This here rookie mistake gave Chuck enough time to recover and hit the Vader bomb to put down the rookie.
A video played of the aftermath of last month’s main event. Shane Hollister is tired of doing Eric Eznite’s bidding. It is announced that Hollister is not in the Community Center tonight.
The Chosen (Eric Eznite, Malik Champion, & Augustus Draven w/Evangeline) vs. “The Devil Dog” Dustan Moseley & JaxAmore (Casey Jax & Tigre Amore)
Eznite gets on the mic to berate Hollister. He lets the crowd know that if Hollister is not in Eznite’s corner at Anniversary, then Hollister is finished in SCW Pro. During the match itself, the Chosen fully utilized ref distraction and illegal man agitation to obtain a three on one advantage. Despite these tactics, Moseley and JaxAmore showed that they could be a well-oiled machine when the going gets rough, even going so far as using Jax as a projectile weapon. The team of champions whittled away enough of the Chosen’s dominance and the World Champion Moseley put down Eznite with the jackhammer to get the victory for his team.
