Welcome to New York Jazz Chisolm. On Saturday evening the New York Yankees, pulled the trigger on acquiring one of the games top Leadoff men, in Jazz Chisolm from the Miami Marlins, in exchange for three minor league prospects in Agustin Ramirez, Infielder Jard Serna, and utility man Abraham Ramirez.

Chisholm, plays the game with flair and all the whistles. He plays the game with a lot of fun, something that’s missing in baseball.

Are the Yankees taking a gamble on this trade. That remains to be seen. But this a trade the Yankees had to make, as they are in the offensive doldrums, with the exception of Aaron Judge and Juan Soto, who have been carrying this team in this dreaded slump of not winning.

Chisholm is very capable of playing multiple infield positions, as well as the outfield, so it remains to be seen where Aaron Boone will slot him in the lineup.

In Previous years, he has come close to posting a 20/20 season, and the move to Yankee Stadium should help him achieve that goal.

The one area of concerns is that he has had, injury issues in the past. This is only the second time in his career, that he’s appeared in more than 100 games. His injury issues should make some Yankee fans worry of longevity.

The Yankees did give up two of their best prospects in Ramirez and Serna. With Ramirez, the Yankees viewed him as the same skill set as Austin Wells, and Ben Rice so the catcher position was getting a little clogged up so they were willing to give him up.

At 26, Chisolm’s best years could be ahead of him. While his transition from second base to the outfield didn’t work very well with the Marlins, his athleticism and range speaks for itself, as well as his 22 stolen bases which the Yankees really need that spark in the lineup. They haven’t had a Bonafide leadoff hitter since Brett Gardner.

His salary is very cheap as well. He is only making $2.63 million a season and is only eligible for arbitration after the 2026 season, which makes the Yankees very happy as Pal Hal Steinbrenner is very frugal when it come to signing top talent.

Don’t forget he was a National League All Star in 2022, posting a mind boggling OPS of .860 .

With supertars like Aaron Judge and Gerrit in their prime of their careers, and Juan Soto’s free agency coming up, this is a win at all costs season for the Yankees.

This is a trade the Yankees had to make and hopefully it brings a long post season run.

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
