We head to Busch Stadium in St. Louis for the final game of this four game series between the Cincinnati Reds and St. Louis Cardinals. The Reds had a huge six run 5th inning in yesterday contest to come away with a 9-4 victory, leading the series 2-1. This afternoon the Cards give the ball to veteran Lance Lynn coming off one of his best starts of the season.

Lynn threw six innings surrendering one run on four hits against the Atlanta Braves his last time out. St. Louis has won four out of the last six Lynn starts. One loss to Miami in extra innings and the other to Cincinnati on May 27th.

Toeing the rubber for Cincinnati will be Hunter Greene. Greene is in the midst of a rough stretch giving up 17 runs over his last five starts. Greene has yet to face St. Louis so far this season. Both teams are under .500 against the division, but St. Louis does hold a 23-18 home record.

It’s going to be tough for the Cards to catch up to Milwaukee, who currently holds a 6.5 game lead in the NL Central. St. Louis currently hold the final wild card spot, with Cincinnati sitting 3.5 games out. A lot of public action has come in making the Cardinals the favorite now today, so hopefully that doesn’t deter the outcome. Look for the Cards to split the series and get another win with Lynn on the mound.

Official Pick: Cards ML -110

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
