The Cavs 2023 season ended in a disappointing fashion, losing 4-1 in the Conference Semifinals to the eventual NBA champions Boston Celtics. But they proved to be a team that can compete with a couple more contributors. And the perfect way to fix that problem is thru free agency. So in this article I will be giving you the best options in my opinion.

#1 Donavan Mitchell

The first and most obvious priority is to resign Donavan Mitchell. Mitchell is coming of another great year averaging 26.6 PPG 5.1 REB 6.1 AST with an impressive slash line of 46.2/36.8/86.5, and also had a career low in TO. It’s a deal that will most likely get done and is essential to the Cavs competing.

#2 Andre Drummond

Another good option is former Cav Andre Drummond who most recently played for the Chicago Bulls. Even though he isn’t what he used to be Drummond would bring a great veteran presence to the Cavs as well as a big presence in the paint of the bench. Drummond is coming of a year averaging 8.4 PPG 9 REB on 55.6 percent shooting.

#3 Saddiq Bey

Next we got Saddiq Bey. Bey is a young wing player who would fit great with this younger Cavs team. Bey is coming of a solid season averaging 13.7 PPG 6.5 REB 1.5 AST with a decent slash line of 41.6/31.6/83.7. Bey would also bring decent permitter defense to the bench.

#4 Taurean Prince

Another former Cav whose time with the team goes unnoticed is Taurean Prince. Prince who last played with the Lakers would bring a great 3&D presence to the bench which would be most welcome. Prince is coming of a slightly down year averaging 8.9 PPG 2.9 REB 1.5 AST with a slash line of 44.2/39.6/73.5. Princes defense would be very helpful of the bench come playoff time.

Overall the Cavs have lots of good players, and I believe that getting just 1 or 2 of the players I listed would be huge to pushing the Cavs towards a Championship.
