Reds current number 2 prospect Noelvi Marte has been assigned to AAA Louisville on a rehab assignment on Tuesday June 11th. Marte was suspended for 80 games on March 8th, 2024 for a performance enhancing substance and is allowed to rehab in the minor leagues before his suspension is officially up on June 27th. Marte could be a boost to Reds lineup and is a solid defender at 3rd base. Reds manager David Bell said Marte will also get some playing time at 2nd base as well as his natural position at shortstop during his rehab assignment. Marte is the first important piece of a plethora of missing pieces to this Reds ball club. Marte will return on a 16 game hitting streak.
