We head to the Bronx for the final game of the series between the LA Dodgers and New York Yankees. Friday’s game was an extra inning battle that saw LA coming away with a 2-1 win in 11 innings. Yesterday LA got to NY’s bullpen scoring seven runs in the 8th & 9th inning combined. New York looks to avoid a sweep and grab a win tonight at home before hitting the road against red hot Kanas City.
Tyler Glasnow takes the mound for the Dodgers recording eight or more strikeouts in seven of his last eight starts. Even though he hasn’t pitched poorly he’s had some bad luck as the Dodgers are just 1-4 in his last five starts. Luis Gil toes the rubber for NY with a 8-1 record and hasn’t given up more than one run in seven straight starts.
While writing this I am very hopefully that outfielder Juan Soto makes his return to the lineup after missing the first two games of this series. Soto is currently day to day with a forearm injury. We are rolling with NY to avoid getting swept and losing back to back primetime games.
