Reds Promote Outfielder to Major League Roster

The Reds have promoted Blake Dunn to the Major League roster

The Cincinnati Reds have selected the contract of outfielder Blake Dunn from AAA Louisville. Cincinnati drafted Dunn in the 15th round of the 2021 MLB draft. In 3 seasons in the Reds farm system, Dunn has solidified himself as a speed threat that makes good contact and has good pop in his bat. Dunn has a career batting average of .286 with 32 home runs, 23 of them coming last season. When Dunn reaches base, that’s where his game is on display. Dunn stole 54 bases in 2023 between high A Dayton and AA Chattanooga.

Blake Dunn blasts his 4th home run in 2024

After getting off to a slow start this season in AAA Louisville, Dunn has started to find his grove. He’s batting .223 with 56 total bases and 4 home runs. Dunn gives the Reds flexibility in the lineup with a 2nd non everyday right handed bat and elite speed. My Major league comparison would be similar to TJ Friedl, only faster.

Welcome to the show Blake Dunn

In a corresponding move the Reds optioned infielder/outfielder Nick Martini to AAA Louisville. Blake, the 25 year old right-hander was already on the 40 man roster.
