Xander Schauffele has been one of the best players in golf these last 3 years and that is undisputed. He has made 2 Ryder Cup teams and always finished in a respectable spot in the Fedex cup. He has been hunting that evasive major and it I so fulfilling to watch him take it home and become a champion. Xander beat Bryson Dechambeau in a thrilling finish when he needed to close out the tournament.

Picture this, you are tied in the PGA Championship on the 18th hole. You need a birdie to win your first ever major after you have been hunting one your whole career. You have to go up and down for birdie to win the championship. This is exactly what Xander Schauffele needed to do to win his first major and he got it done. This article is about Xander but there must be respect given to Bryson Dechambeau who finished one stroke behind Schauffele at —20 under. Xander drilled his birdie putt on the 18th and the ball did a lap around the cup before going in to crown Xander a champion and give him the Wanamaker.

In my opinion Xander will have more majors to come now that he has got the evasive first major out of the way. It just seemed impossible it took him this long to get a major for how well he played his whole career. An easy way to describe Xander is a pinnacle of consistency and an incredible golfer. He is now second in the Fedex cup ranking and trying to chase Scottie Scheffler. Xander is champ, the words roll right off the tongue hopefully more majors to come for Xander.

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
