Fantasy managers either love Sundays or hate them, I love to see how all 48 of my teams fared by the time Monday morning comes (told ya I was a fantasy junkie) but some managers dread Mondays. Managers will be looking for a way to get the jump on their opponents, and I find the best way to do that is to find some two-start pitchers, as I stated in another article I’m biased on rostering more pitchers than hitters just wasting away on a bench spot.

Without further ado, lets take a look at some pitchers starting twice this week you should grab these guys if they’re available or if you have them you should be in luck this week.

Kutter Crawford of the Red Sox is a pitcher I do own, if you don’t and he is available try and scoop him up. Crawford on the season is 2-1 with a 1.75 ERA and 1.08 WHIP with a K/9 having 46 K in 46.1 IP, I believe Crawford has two favorable matchups this week, first facing the Rays at Fenway on Monday the 13th the Rays are 6-9 on the road and then Crawford faces Miles Mikolas of the Cardinals on the road, and the Cards are actually worse at home than on the road. I’m hoping/thinking Boston takes both these games.

Baltimore’s Corbin Burnes faces Jose Berrios of the Blue Jays at Camden Yards on May 13th, Burnes is 3-2 on the season, he has 47 K in 47 IP, Corbin has an incredible 2.83 ERA and 0.97 WHIP, next on tap is a duel with George Kirby also at home on the 19th, Berrios and Kirby are both solid pitchers, but the powerhouse Orioles should carry Burnes to two victories this week.

Carlos Rodon of the Yankees, I like Rodon’s juicy matchups, the first matchup coming vs Chris Paddack of the Twins on May 14th, I love these K/9 guys, Rodon has a 3-2 record and has 43 K in 43 innings, The Twins have been good over the last ten games, Minnesota sports an 8-2 record over those 10 contests, I am a Yankees fan and they’re slightly better offensively and Rodon has been on a mission this year and thus far has been doing great. Rodon faces Chris Flexen of the White Sox, the White Sox suck not to be rude to you two White Sox fans out there 😂

The Nationals have been better than anticipated this year and are above .500, Trevor Williams is 4-0 to start the season with a 1.96 ERA and 1.06 WHIP with 30 K over 36 IP, like Rodon Trevor Williams is facing the White Sox and Chris Flexen, I’m predicting a win here for Williams. Williams next matchup is a bit tougher on the road vs Aaron Nola of the Phillies, even if this match doesn’t go exactly William’s way, he’s been good and consistent and I believe his momentum will carry over and at least produce a quality start and get some strikeouts in this road contest.

This last one you wont be able to pickup and stream; Yoshinobu Yamamoto is 99% owned, but if you have Yamamoto you will like the matchups, Yamamoto faces the rival Giants on Monday in SF, Yamamoto is 4-1, with a 2.79 ERA and an even 1.00 WHIP. Yamamoto has 47 K in 42 innings, I love his chances in San Francisco. Lastly Yamamoto faces the struggling Cincinnati Reds who are 2-8 over their last ten games, the Dodgers are 15-8 at home and Graham Ashcraft of the Reds is mediocre at best. I’m calling it Yamamoto gets two wins this week.

Hopefully you can get your hands on some of these pitchers or own currently own some of them.

Quote of the week

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
