Duke Johnson Jr announced on his Instagram account. He is retiring at the age of 30, after playing eight seasons in the NFL.
Johnson Jr was drafted with the 77th pick, in the third round of the 2015 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns out of the University of Miami.
He spent his first four seasons with Browns, before spending two seasons with the Houston Texans, then one season a piece with the Miami Dolphins and Buffalo Bills.
Johnson was an effective dual threat, third down running back. You had to account for his catching ability out of the backfield, as well as his shiftiness when running the football.
He finishes his career with 532 carries, for 2,265 yards with 11 rushing touchdowns. He also had 311 receptions, for 2,870 yards, with 12 touchdowns.
