Scottie Scheffler won the masters Sunday April 14th and he did it by being so uniquely boring. When I call Scheffler uniquely boring is because what every great golfer does is a little boring. Every great golfer has 2 things: 1. A good routine. 2. Incredible Fundamentals. If you watch Scheffler his routine is always the same and he is always striking the ball well. He is the best ball striker in the world right now with the perfect combo of precision and distance.

After round 1 of the masters he was a -6 and second place in the field only behind Bryson Dechambeau who was -7. Scottie Scheffler’s iron play was terrific in round 1 sticking I close to the pin and surging at the end to close the gap with Dechambeau. Dechambeau stood out on day 1 and so did Max Homa tying Scottie Scheffler for 2nd on the leaderboard at a -6.

Scottie did not have a great day on day 2 to his standards keeping it even with par. Scheffler had 3 birdies and 3 rare bogeys on this day. At the end of this day Dechambeau, Scheffler, and Homa were -6 and tied for first. Scheffler was -1 going into hole number 13 when he hit one right into the water, which is a very rare mistake for somebody of Scottie’s caliber. He showed how cool under pressure he is though by parring every hole after 13 to keep himself in it. He kept it tied going into the weekend and him and Dechambeau were most people’s pick to win it.

In round 3 Scottie had a big day taking the lead at the end but he had a big moment this day and this is one of the reasons he is so great. Scheffler doubled on hole number 10 and bogeyed on hole number 11 and he came back on 12 and made par but he needed to comeback and he did just that. On the par 5 hole number 13 at Augusta he had a clutch eagle to save his round for the day and to keep him with the rest of the field. He finished the day -1 and the solo leader.

On Day 4 Scottie had all the momentum and I think most of the golf world picked him as their winner. He was defined by his 4 birdies on the back 9 and only 1 bogey. He was outstanding on this Sunday at Augusta and we have seen many stars crumble on this stage before but Scottie just keeps doing what he’s doing and has nerves of steel. Ludvig Aberg was the closest to Scottie on the leaderboard with a -7. Scottie finished this Sunday at Augusta with -11 for the full 72 holes and inspired people worldwide to try the Scheffler shuffle a couple times at the driving range.

Scottie has won 2 of the last 3 masters and the all around dominance that we have seen from him hasn’t been seen since a young Tiger Woods burst onto the scene. Scottie’s level headedness wins him these tournaments because he never melts down and always stays calm. I think that this is just the very beginning of Scottie Scheffler’s dominance because he is only 27 years old. He is such a good ball striker and an extremely talented putter so I see no reason why he will stop winning. Just sit back and enjoy the Scottie Scheffler show for the next few years and if you don’t like him I suppose you learn to like him.

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
