The road to Wrestlemania has been a whirlwind of twists and turns, and an emotional rollercoaster full of exciting feuds that will surely make this year’s showcase of the immortals one for the ages. However with only just about a week to go until the bright lights shine down in Philadelphia, there are two matches in particular that feel like they need a little something extra to ensure that they are the best possible payoffs to two of the best feuds this year.
LA Knight vs AJ Styles

The man with one of the most meteoric rises in recent memory goes up against the phenomenal one, one of the best wrestlers to ever walk the face of the earth, AJ Styles. This has been such an underrated feud, and I think even without some form of stipulation, this match will surprise a lot of people. However everything about this rivalry screams that this simply cannot be just a normal match. There has been so many good angles between these two, taking things to the extreme has really paid off. LA Knight going to AJ’s house was gold. A lot of people have wanted an attitude era vibe back, and that segment really had an old school feel to it. This past week on Smackdown when LA was disguised as a security member was really fun too, everything about this feud has been exceptional in my opinion.
But with all this considered, people still don’t seem to be that invested in the match itself. This I do not believe is through any fault of the two performers, but rather it just doesn’t feel like a Wrestlemania worthy match, which is understandable. Hence, I think this match could really benefit off of an exciting stipulation.
No disqualification is what my mind immediately jumps to. After all this has been a blood feud full of aggression, no better way to take out that aggression than with some kendo sticks, chairs and all that good stuff. We’ve seen LA Knight carrying a chair around for the past couple of weeks so it wouldn’t surprise me if they went in that direction. Overall, the match simply needs more intrigue, and a brutal stipulation is the best way to do this. Stipulations can be overused in wrestling, but the general rule of thumb is that if it’s going to make the match better, then do it. I fully believe this is a better match with a stipulation.
Jimmy uso vs jay uso
This match I feel needs a stipulation for a very different reason. Jimmy vs Jey. Brother vs Brother. Yeet vs No Yeet. A battle for bloodline immortality. I hate to say it but the build has felt kind of sub par for a match that is being built on literal decades of history, and not just any history, family history.

I love Jey, I love Jimmy, and this split has done the world of good for both of them individually. It’s allowed Jey to come into his own and become the main eventer that he is, and it’s allowed Jimmy to showcase that he can be at times one of the most entertaining members of the roster. However aside from that one promo from Jimmy (“I raised you UCE!) it seems to me like we could’ve built this better than just having Jimmy cost Jey a bunch of matches. So how can we redeem it?
If you can’t do your storytelling outside of the ring, do it inside the ring. Cast your minds back to the I Quit match between Roman Reigns and Jey Uso. That was an emotional match where the storytelling was done in the ring, and I truly believe the stipulation played a massive part in the raw emotion of that match. The idea of having to make one of your family members utter the words “I Quit” because you’ve beaten them so bad is truly poetic. That match was some of the best in ring storytelling in recent memory, and Jimmy being the reason why Jey had to quit was such a good finish.
So now, why not bring it full circle? It writes itself. The City of Brotherly Love where two brothers collide in the same match that started this whole storyline in the first place is the perfect cyclical narrative to close out this chapter of the Jimmy and Jey story. Think about how much more emotional the match would be if Jey had to make his brother voluntarily quit. Because we have to remember, Jey still loves Jimmy, he said so in that promo on Raw a couple of weeks ago. Making your brother, whom you still love so much quit in the middle of the ring? Now that is emotion. That’s what this story is: pure emotion. A stipulation like an I Quit match will only enhance this emotion further, and that’s exactly what we need for The Usos right now.

Either way, Wrestlemania is gearing up to be one of the biggest shows we have seen in a long time. The grandest stage of them all awaits on April 6th and 7th, and I for one cannot wait to see what’s in store.
