The Best And Worst NFL Free Agency Deals Of A Crazy Monday

Noon on Monday, March 11th was the beginning of the “legally allowed tampering” period of NFL Free Agency.

The news of players staying and going, started coming out fast and furious all day long.

There was so much that happened, that it was hard to people to keep track of what was going on at times.

So, as the midnight hour approaches, I’m going to give you the best and worst, of a busy, busy, day.

THE best move of the day – HB D’Andre Swift to the Chicago Bears. 3-years for $24 Million Dollars.

The Chicago Bears haven’t had a 1,000-yard rusher in years.

Just hearing that doesn’t sound right.

D’Andre Swift is a 3 down, do it all running back.

He’s fast enough to take it to the house. He shifty enough to make people miss and cut back on counter plays. He has the vision to see the hole on the backside. He can also catch the ball out of the backfield, which is very important in today’s NFL.

He give the Bears a dependable running back in the backfield for whoever ends up starting at QB next season.

He had 229 carries for 1,049 yards, with 5 TD’s and a 4.6 yards per carry average for the 2023 season.

THE worst move of the day. – RG Robert Hunt to the Carolina Panthers. 5-years for $100 Million Dollars.

Hunt is not only one of the most fun offensive lineman in the league, but one of the most fun players in the league.

Yes, he has a touchdown catch, but to pay him like he’s a Top 3 OG in the league, is just plain dumb.

One of the best moves of the day – HB Josh Jacobs to the Green Bay Packers. 4-years for $48 Million Dollars.

The last few seasons, the Packers HB combination of Aaron Jones and AJ Dillion was inconsistent.

Jones battled injuries in 2023 and Dillion couldn’t do the job full-time. Now both of them are unrestricted free agents.

Josh Jacobs was the NFL rushing champion in 2022 and will give Green Bay reliable option in the backfield for Jordan Love as he begins his 2nd season as the starting quarterback.

The money also makes sense for the Packers as he’ll save the team almost $1 million dollars from what Jones was supposed to make in 2024.

One of the worst moves of the day – The Cincinnati Bengals releasing HB Joe Mixon.

Yes, I understand that the Bengals did sign HB Zach Moss. I even like Moss, but he is NOWHERE near to being as good as Joe Mixon.

Mixon has over 6,400 yards rushing in 7 seasons, and is coming off another 1,000 yard rushing season.

Are the Bengals just going to throw the football 60+ times every single game?

This is just a bad move, that was motivated by money and not the best interest of the football team.

Day 2 of NFL Free Agency Frenzy starts on NFL Network at 11AM (EST).
